“Two Words”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 7 August 2010

For the first time in my life I managed to check in and out of a hotel with the receptionist uttering only two words to me.
On arrival I greeted the receptionist and informed her of my name and of my reservation. She went through the complete booking process only uttering the one word 'card' requiring of me my credit card. Even the room number was just written on a piece of paper.
On my departure meeting the same receptionist, i attempted conversation, and made the request for my bill to be confronted by the bill with the word 'sign'. I did and left the hotel!!!!!
The room itself was large enough, but for some bizzare reason the king bed was covered in two single slightly overlapping sheets. Odd we thought, and the obvious conclusion occured during the night; they came off!!!
The internet access was very poor.
The breakfast was very good.
Mo-I-Rana; I'll leave you to your own conclusions.
Dont bother with the Meyergarden. Stay elsewhere.

“Good service, reasonably priced”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2010

We stayed here for one night on our way further up north. Our room was in the old part of the hotel building; a double room without bathroom for 650 nok (80 eur). For Norway this is a very reasonable price. The room was big, weirdly decorated, but still rather cosy. It was quiet, the beds were comfortable and the shower (in the hall) was working as it should. The service was good and the breakfast was excellent.
Our only complaint is that the cleaning of the room could have been better.

“Not Rica standard.”

Stayed at the hotel for a total of three nights on the way to and from northern part of Norway. On the way north the hotel was completely full and we hadn't booked - but a friendly lady gave us a small room anyhow with an extra bed - (no toilet or bathroom, but who cares, it was late and we were exhausted)- really nice touch! On the way back we had booked a business room two months earlier, and called to confirm the reservation a week ahead. When we came the young woman in the reception said that they didn't have any business rooms (?!), and when I told her I had booked a room she said it was full. She gave us a room for smokers - the room was dirty and smelled like an ash tray. It looked and smelled like someone just had finished a party - stains on the floors and on the sofa. The next day another woman in the reception gave us a businessroom after checking our reservation. She gave us a discount for the trouble, but it cost us a night of bad sleep and we were tired in the wedding we attended later on that day.
Breakfast was nothing special, and the food was not refilled, kept in order etc. Coffee was a type of instant coffee of bad quality. Dirty dishes were laying around in the dining area, and it was difficult getting a clean table.
This hotel used to be good, but we have sponken to other guests that were also disappointed. The hotel has potential, but needs a complete makeover both when it comes to standard of the rooms and service. I would rate it 1 star, but an extra star for the friendly blond sweedish girl at the reception.

“Cozy hotel and nice restaurant”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 March 2009

I stayed in this hotel in a quite nice non smoker room in the 4 floor from the 2-3 of March 2009. The room was probably renovated some years ago, and the standard was quite OK. For me the most important part is the bed which was very good. Bathroom was OK, and the room was clean and well ventilated.
The reception aerea was nice and the staff helpful and friendly. The Hotel restaurant presented a menu with a lot of dishes based on local ingredients and the dinner I ordered was excellent. The breakfast was OK but nothing special.

“lovely hotel in classic old stile”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 24 July 2008

Meyergarden is a hotel from an acient time. The Meyer familie owned a lot of the properties in Mo i Rana and were the rich family in town. Today the hotel is owned by the RICA group and one could fear that the wanted to run the hotel like the many other hotels in the Rica group. But surprise: They keept the hotel in the old style. Even with a new extention they´we tried to manetain the old classic style.
The rooms are moderne and nice, with flatscreen and big beds og bathroom. Very lovely. The dinningroom and so on are keept in the classic style, lots of old painting (and wery beautiful ones), ornaments and so one. What a treat to stay at this hotel.

  • Liked — the old classic stile, the paintings
  • Disliked — nothning
