“Breathtaking and amazing”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 27 October 2010

This must have been one of the most elegant stays that we had ever had. The hotel is located with a walking distance from both train station and the airport (however, taxi from/to the airport would be expensive, about 100 NON).

Upon check-in, we inquired whether it would be possible to have a room with a sea view, and our request was granted with a smile. The view is indeed breathtaking: sea and quite often one can see eagles passing by. During the month of August, there is also a midnight sun, which in itself is just a great event. So, do ask for a sea-view room. Normally, they don't cost extra.

There is a fitness room in the basement. While the facilities are not the most modern, they are sufficient for a quick work-out or sauna/spa treatment.

We did not try restaurant's dinner/lunch option but found that breakfast was great (with famous Norwegian salmon). Overall, a very positive experience. Highly recommended

“Free Upgrade to Junior Suite”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 September 2010

Since we were staying for 4 nights, they upgraded us from a double room to a junior suite at no extra charge. The room was great, and even had a view of the Nyholms Fort if you looked out the window at the right angle. The beds and comforters were very comfortable, as was the shower. The breakfast each morning was fantastic, and the location was great as well - within sight of the train station (taking the train from Trondheim is highly recommended), and maybe a one mile walk to the airport. There was fresh fruit next to the elevator each day (apples, oranges, kiwis, and grapes), which was a nice treat. The hotel has bikes that guests can use for free, but there was a mix-up with the keys for the locks, and the tire pump didn't work, so we opted to walk to the places we wanted to see.

“Typical Chain Hotel; but a good one”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 8 August 2010

A typical chain hotel. We were upgraded to a superior room which was a nice suprise, and a very nice room it was too.
However, on a weekend if you have a room at the back of the hotel, it might be worth checking if a party boat is in. We were disturbed by music outside our windows till 02.30. Not helped by the people in the room above who appeared to be dancing to that music!!!!
But as I said our superior room was good, the breakfast was great.
Not much else to say other than we'd recommend the hotel.

“Convienient and comfortable.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 September 2009

Stayed for two nights. Efficient and friendly front desk. In fact the receptionist, on our behalf, couldn't have been more helpful - he managed to locate and make an appointment with a local dentist! Our room was spacious, quiet, and overlooked the harbour. The interior of the hotel had a modern feeling, and was well furnished. The bar and library were furnished in a cozy older style.

The breakfast was filling, and complimentary coffee/tea was available in the bar. The hotel was within the town centre, and a few hundred metres from the bus and rail stations. It was convenient for most activities and was an extremely comfortable place. And good value for money.

  • Liked — The bid hotel room and a great view.
  • Disliked — Having to pay for internet access - actually we didn't bother!

“Downtown and by the harbour”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 June 2009

Arrived by plane at Bodo´s airport, very close to the city centre.
There was a sign for the local bus service, good timed for my arrival, but no bus showed up, so time to take a cab. Only some five minutes from the airport.
No time to wait at check-in, the guy at the desk was real friendly.
Changed my room to the third level. It had a window with a view down to the main street,
but there was not that much traffic and also nothing special noisy out there.
It was sunday evening, the restaurant was closed, no problem for me.
Free coffee was offered in the bar, a nice gesture.
The room was a double room, not that large but spacious enough for me.
Too much stuff all around on the desk, sideboard and small table, not what I really like.
The bathroom was ok, shower only, but clean and spacious.
No noise from the rooms beneath, so a good sleep that night.
Breakfast was also ok, I was there prior to the announced opening time, but everything on offer what I need.
Also no time to wait during check-out, all together a recommendable place to stay in Bodo.
And again by taxi to the airport to catch the next flights.
