“Great for a tour group, take your chances for individuals”

We only stayed overnight as we were in transit. The staff were friendly and helpful and the room was clean, and comfortable. As it was a Sunday and most places are closed Sunday evenings in Bodo, we were drawn to this hotel because as well as breakfast a buffet dinner was included in the price.
Warning: tour groups seem to descend like locusts on a buffet. We were advised not to go to the dining room until the groups left. Fine.....except there was hardly any food left either!
A similar thing happened in the morning: they have an early start breakfast for those leaving before the dining room opened. Once again the foyer was packed with a tour group who had
stripped any light breakfast offerings. We left rested but hungry.
Another couple was leaving when we were and were also a bit overwhelmed by the tour group and their frantic rushing to and fro.
Apart from that the hotel is right next to the main shopping mall and close to the harbor. There is free wifi in the rooms which is a plus.
I believe a stay here when tour groups were not in residence could be very pleasant, but unfortunately our stay was seriously affected by them especially in accessing the included meals.

“Really liked this hotel”

We were given a twin room, not like the one on the pictures here on Tripadvisor, but all white. The room was called Collection style, and a little larger than normal style, and best of all, it was to the back side of the hotel and very quiet. ( Room 311 ).
The hotel appeared to be in a good condition. Check in was quick, but due to 2 buses with italian tourist, it took a while before the only elevator could take us up.
The free evening buffet is nice, and we did not have to go out for a meal. Breakfast was also nice, and by 0900, the tourist buses had left and there was no problems at breakfast.
The hotel is situated right in the center of the town. We parked in their private garage for NOK 100, instead of leaving the rented car in the street.
The beds were very comfortable. No flatscreen tv, and just a few channels to choose from.

“Great location - Cozy”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 July 2011

Centrally located hotel in the heart of Bodö. The rooms are renovated and offer decent standards, good sized and clean. The hotel offers an evening complementary buffet meal and although it is very basic is most enjoyable. They have a small bar in the reception area which is nice and cozy. The staff are very pleasant and most helpful. I would highly recommend this hotel for both business and pleasure stays.

“We keep comming back”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

We have stayed here before, and the main reason for coming back are several.

Going on holiday for 6-8 weeks, our car is always packed. In a major city in Europe you may expect that someone may try to take your things at night. The hotel has an basement locked garage which opens by room key. There is an extra charge NOK 100.

In the evening we got more excitement from a police incident just outside our room, than watching a TV series. Lots of shouting from the police, caught our attention. A month ago a news chopper hovered just outside our hotel room in San Francisco after a hit and run. News choppers on similar happenings in Bodo? You're kidding!

There are waffles at 15:00 and an afternoon light meal at 18:00 – both complimentary. The rooms has walnut floors, and the hotel is very nice. For this particular stay we used earned points in the Choice chain. We got a feeling that we were given one of the smaller rooms. (we have stayed here at least 10 times before). The hotel was far from fully booked.

The TV in the room is CRT (old) and there was not much space to move about. The bathroom is elegant, with shower. There are no itemized shower soap, conditioner or such, but there is a soap dispenser on the wall in the shower and one beside the sink.

There is this department-store “Koch” next door. Deliveries in early morning has a tendency to leave the diesel engine running, which creates both noise and fumes at lower level floors in this hotel. Such negligence is of course in violation with Norwegian pollution laws, but not enforced very vigorously by “coppers” that should be up and about at 06:00.

We slept well, but prices have gone up considerably recent years. Last year we paid NOK 1.600, the very same night the franchise owner used millions on his wedding in Morocco with guests flown in from Norway. NOK 1.600 was about twice of what we paid the previous year, but then we had not asked for a confirmed price when we ordered.

“Fantastic”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 June 2011

Great location, a block off of the waterfront. Waterfront cafes & harbor just 2 blocks away. Seven-11 just across the street katty korner. Tourist center 2 blocks down. A nice walk from the airport, about a km (2/3 mile) through residential area. Stick to the high road going in so you see the church. The waterfront is a quaint mix of working boats and pleasure craft with outdoor cafes scattered around and plenty of public sitting spots just to relax and enjoy.
Hotel is in the old Grand Hotel which was half bombed in WWII and has been rebuilt. We enjoyed the displays from the elegant era. The staff was friendly, helpful, and efficient. Dinner is light, cold plates & soup. But there was one hot casserole - cheese, chicken, potaoes, spinach - that was great. Breakfast is standard European buffett - cold meats, bread, eggs, fruit. Try the brown cheese.
Wonderful place to go to see the white nights. Locals were very friendly. And quite pleased to have Americans visit. They don't get us up there very often - 100 miles above the Arctic Circle. And it was unseasonable hot 82 degrees so everyone was out enjoying the weather. We are already planning a trip back in February/March to (hopefully) see the Northern Lights.
A short walk to the train station. Take the high road. The train ride south to Trondheim is spectacular!!! We were lucky enough to have seats that we could move back and forth across to see & photo both sides.
