I`\ve lived at this hotel for a several times, and I`ve always liked it there. The hotel is situated near by the railway station, which I like. It`s also near by the city of Lillehammer. I will mention the nice and friendly staff who gives the hotel a very relaxed and cosy atmosphere. They also give you a nice and tasty breakfast, and in the reception area you can sit by the fire with a cup of coffee, watching the other guests or reading a newspaper. Some of the rooms are kept in their original style, and you can feel the breath from the many painters and writers who chose to live in this hotel when they stayed in Lillehammer. It`s not a modern or high-fashioned place, but charming with its own personality and soul!

Stayed here for one night as part of a larger tour group. This is definitely not a "hotel" by international standard, but since it is located in a small rural area, I will rate it based on a "inn". If you want hotel standards, the Radisson SAS nearby maybe the better option.

Pros

- Views from room (make sure you get high floor rooms as all the ground level rooms faces the streets and will be very noisy)
- Elevator even when there are only 2 floors (Yes.. don't take elevator for granted)
- Bathroom water pressure strong with hot water
- Great location... the super market, cinema, museum and main street is located just stone throw's away
- The area in general is very beautiful and quaint

Cons
- No air conditioning as with most accomodations here in remote areas
- Noise can be an issued since you have to open the window since there is no air-con
- Wear and tear here and there, decor quite old (But I believe they have upgraded room types for a higher price)
- Breakfast (included) selection should be expanded

The service at the reception was OK, but at the restaurant, it was not.
The room were extremly shabby, as the rest og the hotel inside.

I stayed in this hotel several times with a USA hockey team that went to play in Lillehammer. The staff went out of their way to be halpful, especially when my luggage was lost. Rooms were spacious and inviting. The restaurant, Tapas, was a little pricey but always very good. The hotel is convenient to the center of town and walking distance to Olympic Park- If you stay here- tell them the hockey teams say we miss you!
