Very good hotel, efficient service, very nice rooms, clean and well maintained, and given it is in Norway excellent value for money. Good breakfast too.

We stayed in a number of Scandic hotels during our Scandinavia trip. We quite like the concept they have with an eco-friendly no-nonsense approach. The Scandic in Hamar stood out for us. Clean and modern rooms & restaurant, friendly helpful staff and good breakfast in the morning. Would stay again for sure.

Stayed 2 nights in a very, very sparse room (is probably supposed to be "Eco" minimalist but seems to err on the side of cheap):-

Negatives: poor bathroom ventilation, no hotel/information guide (some in Norwegian on TV), no safe, ultra expense local calls (NOK120 for 2 short calls to friends to make arrangements), inadequate storage space for 2 people.

Positives: quite, good but single beds, friendly staff (had to ask many quests because they was no hotel/information guide) and good breakfast

Overall, not good value for money even compared with other Norwegian hotels, poor bathroom ventilation was off-putting; seems more setup for local tourists and/or business travellers than non-Nordic tourists

makes sure you stay in the new building not the old building. I didnt know about this thing when I arrive, and they ask me to enter the other old building to check in, I was in schock. the restaurant were too small, they dont even have a seat for breakfast.

the room is just too tiny and I feel like its should be trolls hotel. my mom's having an extra bed in the room, but FYI they dont even have some space in the room. i even need to think hardly, where the hell can I put my luggage at. dont waste your time here
