Hotel is situated about 1 km from the town centre, near a small, but nice park. From the outside, the property seems to be from at least three different decennia.
Inside, most of the communal areas are nice, clean and well-kept. At one point I wandered down the wrong corridor and ended up in a dead end in an old part of the hotel, which seemed to be used as a storage area. Had to walk quite a long way back to get out.
Room was OK, but with a very limited view even if it was on the 7th floor. Many of the lamps in the room did not work. Small desk, just useable. Room temperature controlled via the TV (an old CRT thingy, probably from 1994?). Quite good beds.
The bathroom worked OK, but was very bad from an aesthetic perspective. Paint was cracking from the walls, shower area had lots of mould and dirt in the tight places, roof was mouldy all over. Towel drier was dangling from the wall - seemed quite unsafe as it was inside the shower/bathtub area. Washbasin had several minor cracks.
Meals were varying. The buffet lunch was quite good, while my group's set dinner was awful - a shellfish soup tasting like drain cleaner, over-cooked meat and a very bland cake for dessert. Breakfast was quite good.
Front desk staff was friendly and helpful, while I had mixed experiences with those in the restaurants. Some of them did not answer simple questions - maybe they did not understand Norwegian?
All in all, a mixed experience. The hotel has lots of potential, but too many things are worse than they could be.
