Stayed in Hotel Vienna in Dec 09 with the girlfriend for 2 nights. Believe it or not we couldn't find the original hotel we had (kind of half) booked, and after wandering around with heavy bags for an hour, stopped in here out of exhaustion.
Girl at reception was very nice and helpful. No problem whatsoever booking in Paddy and Biddy off the street for a very reasonable rate. The lobby looked almost like greatgrandmother's livingroom. In a good way. Free coffee and biscuits at any time of the afternoon.
The corridor looked like something from the 1970's, as did the rooms, but I mean this in a nice way. Very clean too. I never made it to breakfast in the mornings thanks to previous nights' beer, but the word from my better half was that it was good.
I'd be lying if I said the hotel was central. It was a good 15-20 minute walk from the major sights and squares...at a good pace. But there is a metro station at the end of the street, so don't panic. What I did like about the stroll into the center was that we were the only tourists. What I liked about the stroll back at 3 in the morning were the Kasewursten.
All in all we loved our stay in Vienna. We'd have no problem staying in this hotel again, as it was ideal apart from being a little bit out. But that is my only complaint.
