Booked a package with BA Holidays. Got 4th night free.
Had stayed there several times 10 to 5 years ago on business, this time privately.
Plus points.
1) If you learn to use the trams, couldn't be more convenient, stop just outside, but buy a Vienna Pass.
2) 15/20 minute enjoyable stroll to the centre by foot. (Walking though Karlplatz gets a bit boring though!)
3) Extremely friendly, welcoming and helpful reception staff.
4) Comfortable well equiped rooms. Not super-luxurious in the opulent sense, but as a 'Conran designed'-read minimilistic hotel it provides the all the basics and the rest. Apple iMacs a nice touch.
5) Breakfast better than average. Had the impression everything freshly prepared that morning, spoiled for choice. Included in price.
6) Bar small but comfortable, but watch out, everyone seems to smoke in public places everywhere in Vienna.
Negatives/niggles
1) Public areas, particularly the corridors on the room floors, a bit tired. Could do with a lick of paint.
2) Nice idea to feature TV channels on the Apple iMac, but only if they work! BBC channels didn't. Although didn't really care (not there to watch TV), having mentioned fault to reception a couple of times, nothing improved. In these days of technology, not beyond the wit of man to fix these issues.
Both small issues, overall most enjoyable stay, would certainly go back.
