“Good value, good location”

When I read some of the reviews I was very distrustful about this hotel but I was wrong. We stayed in room 314, renovated, spacious room, very clean with good heating (no AC). We paid a double room 50€/night, no breakfast. Hotel has great location. Just in front of hotel there is grocery store SPAR, bakery ANKER and pharmacy. Although on map it looks far from Vienna center, it really isnˇt. In front of hotel there is tram station and tram 67 will get you in 15 minutes to the Hofburg. Also a few minutes walking there is U3 station and in 15 minutes you are at Stephanplatz. In room we had free WiFi internet /although the connection was slow/ and free safe. Ask for a room with no street view.

“good hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 December 2010

I was accomodated in Hadrigan Hotel this month, December 2010 for a couple of days.
It is very easily to reach, quite close to the centre. You may choose to travel by subway, you will find a metro station just a few steps away. A bus station lies opposite the hotel.
I found the breakfast sufficient and very tasty. The tablecloths were tidy.
In the rooms, the bed sheets were white and extremely clean. The carpets smellt like dust in the rooms and on the hall-way. The towels were white and clean as well.
The furniture seemed old.
The staff was a bit unfriendly and rigid.

“Value-for-money breakfast, okay room and curt service”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 November 2010

Stayed for three nights at the Hotel Hadrigan in October. The hotel is about 10 min walk (via the shortest way) to the Ottakring subway station which is another 10 min ride away from the city centre. However, as the walk to/fro subway from hotel can be quite deserted in the evening so it is best to walk on the major roads (instead of the shortest way) which takes an extra 10min.

All the staff we encountered were rather sullen and curt, though they would still respond to requests for assistance, albeit not with a friendly face. When we asked about the bus services available at the bus stop outside the hotel, we were told very curtly that we don't need buses because the metro is just 10 min walk away. However, we won't put it past them as they probably work long shifts and can be a little moody at times.

The room is as basic as you can get and the TV is rather dispensable given its small size and few channels. The heater would only turn on late at night so don't bother about the dials. The Wifi connection is either free or non-existent depending on which floor your room is on. We are on second level so we were able to get a decent connection (ask for the username and password from the reception), but there is no guarantee of internet access for those on higher floors as told by the staff.

The breakfast buffet is rather cheap at at EUR 5 per person, and provides some choices of cheese, ham, bread and juices. Quite good for a rather satisfying breakfast.

Not exactly the best place to stay in Vienna given there are other choices at slightly higher prices and nearer to city centre. But if cost is your top priority and you do not mind hostel-like basic room and service as well as the less-than-ideal location, then Hotel Hadrigan may fit your bill.

“Avoid at all costs, even though it's cheap”

I've been to the Hotel Hadrigan recently, and even from the moment I saw the building, I had a very bad feeling, which got worse as I approached the reception, and, ultimately, the room itself. Imagine an old, cheaply and poorly decorated communist building. Well, this is worse. For example, the elevator has no door, so you can actually put your hand outside the elevator while going up or down. The room, was as inviting as the gates of hell. However, I must admit, it was clean, and the bed was, in all fairness, acceptable. The toilet of the room is a plastic "box", water was either too hot, or too cold, so taking a shower was a pain. The TV set in the room had no remote, was 13 inches wide (meaning that you would have to stick your face in it to see anything), and on top of this, I couldn't even get it to start up for some reason. And, what really turned me off, was the receptionist. No matter what hotel you work in, you cannot tell a customer that, and I'm quoting: "Yes, you can pay with creditcard, if you really must, but we would really prefer that you don't"....and this sentence was accompanied by a disgusted face.
However, on the good side, the breakfast was pretty good, including fruit, coffee, orange juice, boiled eggs, and so on. This was the only part of the hotel I found enjoyable to some level.

So, in conclusion, I'd recommend avoiding this hotel. It's cheap, true, but for 4-5 euro more per night you can find a much, much better hotel ( and I know, because I've been to quite a few hotels in Wien )

“No Frills Hotel”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 5 October 2010

Stayed here for 2 nights. The hotel is far from the city center (about 25-30 minutes by metro) and the rooms are very small. Not much to do around either. I am sure you can find a similar deal a little closer to the center.
