I stayed 2 nights with some friends (3 rooms). All the rooms are different and situated in different buildings. My room way quite renovated and also the bathroom was accettable (no hair dryer into the room), the second was quite big but with an old fashioned bathroom the third very old, light not enough and with a bathroom very old.

Breakfast simple but very good with a nice service. The receptionists are not very kind and polite with clients and one of this doesn't speak english...
Tram N.43 very close to the property and also the underground (stop: ALSERSTRASSE) is not so far.

Location was fine, near the train station and was very easy to navigate. The area itself wasn't great, but the necessities are there. The staff were mainly very good, all speaking english, and friendly. I had to book a taxi for our early departure though and the man at reception wouldn't do it for me, luckily I had enough German to book it myself. When the taxi came, we weren't alerted and as a result missed our connection.
The rooms were fine, nothing more than the basics, and the bathroom and living area were shared. Didn't encounter many people in either though, just those passing by. The breakfast buffet was the usual continental cheeses and ham etc., which didn't suit me but was fresh and there was ample coffee, cereal and toast-very much cater for yourself.

It was quite hard to find the hotel - especially as the street " Hernalser Hauptstrasse" suddently changed to another name in the middle of the street... Sometimes you have to wait till someone comes back to the reception room- which can be annoying- but they go give you a phon number to call if you REALLY NEED them to come back... there was only free wifi near the reception area- but there is a free internet computer to use .. in the reception room. The building itself.. is like ...a school building/ corriador style. We happen to have a room at the otherside of the building( across the "garden") this is BAD if you have a HUGE suitcase- as there is NO elevator and lots of stairs~! Luckily we had a small carryon size luggage bags so it wasn't too much of a problem. We had to share bathrooms and toilet- but they were fine. Breakfast was alright as well ( it was included in our price). Overall- it was good hotel for the budget price

Now known as Hotel in Hernals. We arrived late at night at this hotel, and staff were not very helpful at directing us to its car park. The front is on quite a busy street, however most rooms look out over quiet inner courtyard. The place is rather like a rabbit warren and was a bit creepy late at night, with stone floors and lights that only turn on when they sense movment. The room was ok, clean enough, but basic. A few restaurants nearby but not many. Breakfast was dire: bread, one type of cheese and ham, and cereal, there was no juice available when we were there. Only recommended if you want rather basic and clean accommodation.
