When our travel agent booked us here, we had our apprehensions as most of the traveller reviews on Tripadvisor were at best, average. On an overall basis, however, our stay was quite a decent one - the rooms were clean, nice and spacious, with a double bed, and a single bed. Some of the reviews on Tripadvisor had talked about the noise emanating from a big construction site next door - fortunately, this was not an issue we encountered, even though our room faced the said construction site. The breakfast menu was quite adequate, with a decent degree of variety.

We did find it a little challenging to reach the hotel first - we disembarked at the Sudtiroler Platz station, and had to walk around a bit before we found the hotel . Subsequently, however, we discovered that the hotel was just a 5 minute walk away from the Keplerplatz metro station - therefore moving around was pretty convenient. I understand that the place can also be accessed thru the tram network, although we didn't try it out.

On the downside, pretty much all the restaurants in the neighbourhood close very early, and the hotel does not have a functioning restaurant during the day the restaurant is open only for breakfast), hence we struggled for our dinner on the 1st evening. Further, the hotel does not offer free internet access.

On an overall basis, not bad for a short stay, although there are perhaps better options to be found in Vienna.

Stayed in September 2011 as a family of 3 (couple and a 6-year old).

Location: Not central, but close to the metro (underground)...about a 5 minute walk. Beware of the constructions sites right next door!!! They start early morning...

Room: Double room doesn't mean double bed! It is two single beds. The room had a chair and a desk, but the chair was broken. The light in the bathroom took a little while to open and the bathroom fan had difficulty stoping its noise so we had to close the bathroom door at night so we couldn't hear it. The television should be replace because it is not working properly (the image and the sound). The maid came in the room TWICE at 8:15 am ... while we were sleeping...! She just knocked and came in, so brutal morning call. Also, we were given two keys to the room but only took one for the day and kept the other one in the room and when we came back, the key was missing... maid...?

Staff: Not helpful. They only do the strict minimum.

Hotel: There is no restaurant in this hotel. Only the buffet at breakfast, if you take it. So if you want to go to a nice restaurant for dinner, you have to take the underground to go central because the places near the hotel aren't so nice!

Taxi: If you are coming by train, beware of the taxis! It costs around 30 euros for a 10 minute ride.... and 40 euros to go to the airport!! I suggest taking the underground and the CAT (City airport Train). Costs around 11-18 euros but worth it.

Overall: For the price of the room paid, it was okay, but I wouldn't go back again. I would recommend paying a little more to be more central in Vienna.

I stayed here for a week in April. It was difficult to find without a taxi, but if you know the tramline it's easy to find from there. Within easy walking distance of the tramline to get into the city centre in a few minutes, but no decent restaurants nearby. Comfortable rooms with nice ensuite, but view was over the massive construction site, and was awoken at 7am each morning without fail to loud loud noises from the site! Good for cheap, standard convenience if you don't mind walking to transport, but if you're looking for a romantic, quiet stay in a hotel with characater this isn't for you.

The room was nice and clean. The location was poor as you need to take transit to get downtown. The area is semi-retail and semi-industrial. Their breakfast was very poor quality. The best part of this hotel is it was located within 50 meters from the Bauhaus Restaurant which is a very small pub/restaurant where the owners speak very little english however the food is incredible.... home cooking and great value 5 euros a meal. The schnitzel was the best i have ever tasted. You have to pay for internet which is just a real hassle. Most other hotels give you access.
