At first sight the hotel in a shopping center building doesn't look inviting at all, but soon after the friendly reception you forget that feeling. Large rooms with outdated furniture and TV, but we didn't mind since everything was very clean and we didn't spent that much time inside anyway. Great location, fast access to public transportation which gets you promptly anywhere you want. Ask the nice receptionist about a good typical Austrian restaurant and try the breakfast at one of the specialized restaurants nearby (you should book in advance since Austrians have a real breakfast culture).

Just a short U-Bahn journey away from Karlsplatz and Stephansplatz (nearest stop Hietzing on U4) nice location, friendly staff, lovely room, would recommend!

Hotels in Vienna do not tend to be very cheap and when I booked this I thought it would be a dump. How wrong I was! Yes, it is dated and the elevator does not go to all floors, but what can one get for that sort of money nowadays anyway? The room was on the fourth floor, very quiet (although the hotel is on a shopping street with a tram passing through, it is so positioned that most of the building is not exposed to the street) and yes, dated, but very clean an actually very large, with separate walk-in warderobe and bathroom. We came very late and the receptionist was nice enough, other (phone) communication beforehand was dealt with very nicely and promptly. All in all, considering the price, excellent location and the area around, I would go there anytime again. Come to think of it, I wouldn't really know why one would pay more in Vienna, providing one is capable of taking one's luggage one or two flights of stairs if there is nobody at the reception at that moment...

Spent four nights at the Ekazent in mid-September. Turned out to be better than expected. Our room on the 4th floor was large, and if somewhat dated and a bit utilitarian, very clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a small retail area which turned out to be convenient if you needed to pick up a few things, as you were buying at local rather than downtown tourist prices. In addition there were a number of restaurants if you didn't feel like eating downtown. The very efficient metro was only a five minute walk away so it was very easy to get to the city core and back (or at the beginning and end of our visit very simple to get too and from the Westbahn train station). A big surprise was the top floor buffet breakfast. Nice spot, good variety offer and excellent service. The hotel staff manned the desk 24/7 and were helpful whenever we needed anything. Overall, what I expected to be a bit of an "industrial" hotel proved to be better. Good value in return for a slightly longer commute time to the city core. And, if you plan to spend a day at Schonbrunn palace and gardens (and you should) or just take an evening walk, the entrance is only a few minutes walk away.
