We stayed as a family (4 adults, 2 children under 14) at the Hotel Bleckman in July 2011. The Hotel is conveniently located to many of Vienna's attractions and within a decent walking distance of their city core. We walked to their shopping concourse and enjoyed an evening at the famed Opera House. The Hotel is manned by friendly and very helpful staff at the front deask. They were quite helpful in identifying places to visit and nearby restaurants. The parking lot is small and when we were there it was full so they found a way to have our car accomdated on a side street at a very reasonable price. This is not the first time we have stayed there nor will it be the last.
The Cuffs

GOOD POINTS:-
-> Great value for money - I paid Eur128 for 2 nights
-> Very close to city centre and important places of interest;
-> Clean environment and laundry;
-> Friendly, Enlish-speaking Staff;
-> Free, reliable internet connection.

LESS GOOD POINTS:-
-> No Aircondition in my room, but I slept peacefully nonetheless;
-> Breakfast is very humble but good and satisfactory.

My husband and I stayed at the Apartment Thurngasse 13/7, Vienna, during May and June, 2011. They have not returned the deposit, and after waiting for 2 weeks, listening to their lies, I finally contacted the police both in Vienna and in Finland.

Other negative things about the hotel/apartment rental "service". The apt was supposed to be cleaned every week, and it worked out about 3 out of 4 weeks. We had to ask for extra toilet paper at the hotel during week 1. The last week was not ideal, the cleaning lady never came, during that week, when we stayed there, even though we had to pay the final cleaning fee.

The trash was therefore taken out only once a week, and the door to the back-yard, where the trash cans were, were always locked, so we had to sit with the thrash in the apt for 1 week.

About the internet connection. The hotel advertises that with the room, you get a starter credit, that is IF the previous tenant has left you any, which he has purchased himself/herself from A1, from the local post-office, so obviously there are only a few seconds left for you to use. For 20Euro, you get about a 1-week of internet, if you do not watch any youtube, only really basic stuff.

Make sure you do not leave after the check-out, without the deposit, in cash, and get a receipt for the usb-stick, and for leaving the room clean.

I spent two nights there in 2009 while traveling through Europe. I've choosen this hotel mostly because it was late and, as somebody else said, the reception of some hotels uses to close around 9PM.

The hotel is close to some important touristic sights while other can be reached by tram. The tram station is say 50m from the hotel entrance.

I liked the look of the hotel from outside, I liked the halls(they looked like in Godfather) but yes, the rooms weren't really impressive even if they seemed clean.
My room was opposite to the street so I had a pleasant, quiet sleep.
The staff were generally helpful and wiling to give information on various issues related Wien.
On a negative note I have to say that the breakfast was very..small. There was actually hardly anything to eat than jam, butter and some coffee.
