“On the whole, good hotel&connection”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 September 2011

The photos on the hotel's site are far from what it really looks like. At least on the outside, since it was pretty difficult for us to find it. Actuallty, we were standing right in front of it and still no sign of it... Lucky us we got help, without even asking for it, from a passer-by.
The room was quiet enough to get a good night's sleep, even if it was pretty close to the main street. Clean linen, towels and bathtub. No remote control for the TV. We did not need it anyway, I guess we could have asked for it at the front office.
Location ok, metro connection with the center and Schonbrunn palace. Still, I prefer hotels that are reachable by ground transport, as you can enjoy the view on the way.
On the whole, worh the money we paid, we enjoyed a special offer, 3 nights with buffet breakfast: 87 euros/person/3 nights in doucble room.

Room Tip: Always ask for a quite room. You won't get the quietest, anyway, so I guess if you don't, yo...

“Clean,great location, superb value”

Stayed at The Mozart with 12 college students on a summer seminar. The staff was most helpful, the location was great with superb access to trams and the U-bahn. Rooms were clean . The included breakfast was a plus. We have stayed in so-called higher-end Viennese hotels recently, but the Mozart had so many plusses that we will likely stay there when we travel alone.

“Disorganised hotel with awful service”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 July 2011

My friends and I all booked into the Mozart hotel (4 x double rooms). Prior to leaving for Vienna, one friend was informed that the company he booked through had gone into liquidation and therefore, he was no longer booked into the Mozart, however, the other three couples still had rooms as we booked with another company.

On arrival at the hotel with one of the other couples, we were told that unfortunately they had had a 'booking issue' and we were now to be in a different hotel. We were not provided with any compensation for this, even though this was obviously a huge inconvenience. We were moved to the Alexander Hotel (we have no complaints about this hotel, it is much nicer than the Mozart and still in the local area - try it!).

The other couple were told that they were still in the Mozart, but they did not have any double rooms left and they would have to have a twin room. On entering the room they were given a single bed and a camp bed. They complained and were told this was 'normal' for a twin room. They were also told that they had no other double rooms available. This seems strange as our last two friends who were booked into the hotel arrived about 2 hours later and were given a double at the Mozart hotel (even though they booked a week after the first couple with the twin room).

The organisation of this hotel and its booking facilities are atrocious. We wanted four double rooms and ended up with 1 double and 1 single with a camp bed. The customer service was also not up to much.

The only positive thing about this hotel is its location and closeness to the metro. However, there are plenty of hotels in Austria and I am sure none of them are as bad as this one!

“Much better than expected”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 June 2011

We stayed here with Intrepid Travel. We found the staff to be very pleasant. I speak some German, which helped but they also taught some to my wife.

Breakfast was good but not for goodies.

Clerk gave me WiFi password for free but did not for others, possibly my reward for my German. It only worked in the lobby and not that well buty IPod did send and receive email.

It is a good value and they reciprocate a good attitude .
I recommend this hotel to travelers who seek sights and sounds on reasonable comfort.
It is not for those who travel to be treated like visiting Royalty or have serious health needs.

I would recommend it to some of my friends but not all, especially the ones who only go first class.
I am 66 and in good health and I had great stay.

“Good hotel for tourists who will not be spending much time in the room”

We had booked three triple rooms for a short stay about a week back. The hotel is well located and easily accessible by the underground. We checked in late night on May 24 and I must say that the person at the reception was not very helpful though he checked us in readily enough.
The next morning, the young man at the reception was amazingly helpful and cooperative.
The rooms were old-fashioned and good size but the only complaint was that the third bed was just a small, poky little thing make up of springs and uncomfortable. In fact the third person preferred to sleep on the mattress on the floor.
Breakfast was good with great variety. The lady who looks after breakfast was wonderful, bustling around, very hardworking and cheerful and friendly.
Overall excellent value for money.
