I stayed at The Rooms this past spring and for me it was in many ways ideal. I was traveling alone but didn't want to stay in a hostel. The fact that this B&B is a bit outside the center meant that it was more affordable--although you do have to budget extra time to get in and out of the center. I loved the way each room was decorated/designed. I found it to be very relaxing, serene, and clean. The breakfast was tasty too. I would definitely go back, if I had the luxury of more days to spend. I didn't feel like I got to explore enough because I spent a lot of time commuting.

The Rooms is a small and nicely appointed B&B in a quiet suburb of Vienna. It's actually a really nice neighborhood. Our room was nicely decorated, very clean and the breakfast was quite good. On our last day we discovered a great restaurant on the water just a few minutes walk away. It would have been nice to get more attention and infomation from our host. We didn't see much of her and I felt a little weird asking for things. The other family staying there had small kids...very noisy! Next time, we'll choose something closer to the center and I will probably steer away from the bed and breakfast scenario. It has worked for us before...but this time it was just unfortunate.

we stayed for 4 nights in one of The Rooms apartments on Vorgartenstrasse and it blew us away.

the design, attention to detail, cleanliness and Eva's understanding (I had my wallet stolen in Rome and had no way to pay for the apartment until midway through our stay) made our Vienna sojourn a very memorable one.

such reasonable rates in a beautiful city.

The Rooms is a charming B & B in a nice residential area near the river and a few blocks from public transit. When we arrived we were greeted by Eva, handed a bus schedule and then off she went. We hardly saw her after that. I was hoping for some more interaction and availability for questions we might have as visitors to her host city. That said, she makes a lovely breakfast with the best cappucino we had throughout our entire trip.

I can only comment on the basement room that we lodged in but at first glance it was very nicely decorated and clean. However, the layout was a little inconvenient with the toilet across the room from the sink which had no soap, so we resorted to using the shower gel/shampoo that was in the shower stall. But the most distressing thing was the smell of urine or mold in the room. The first day is was overshadowed by the strong infusors she had but after that the smell was very obvious and distracting. Judging from the other reviews, it might be that the upstairs rooms did not have this problem.

I would go back if the I lodged in an upstairs room. The location was fine and it was reasonably priced.
