We really enjoyed our 2 night stay at The Rooms. Our room was on the first floor and very nicely appointed. We thought the the breakfast was delicious, good coffee, eggs soft boiled or scrambled to order plus great granola and breads with a selection of cheese and jams. The Room are located on the western outskirts of the city center but close to a metro station so it’s easy to get into main sights in the center. We purchased a 48 hour metro pass for 10 euro per person and found getting around on the metro system very easy. We chose this B&B mainly because it offered free parking, if you are looking for something similar this is a good bet for you.

We stayed at the apartment in Vorgartenstrasse. It's a great location in a quiet neighbourhood just out of the centre. The apartment is spacious, clean and well-equipped and furnished. The price is great. The owner who came to meet us was really helpful telling us about places to eat and shop nearby, and things to see and do in Vienna. I'd recommend this over a hotel any day.

Because we only stayed two nights we were unable to sample all that was offered for breakfast, but what we had was amazing. There was nothing on the table that was packaged and the serving dishes were more like art pieces than breakfast wear. The preserves were homemade - the onion preserve for cheese is a recipe I hope to replicate- and there were so many healthy things to add to the muesli I could have spent the morning eating. The bed was extremely comfortable and the room was furnished with Eastern European draperies,, lamps, etc. The windows opened so we could get a breeze at night and we awakened to a beautiful view of trees and shrubbery. Though not in the city center, the light rail was only a few minutes walk and took us directly to the city center with no transfer. The owner was a good source of information, very helpful and not at all intrusive. This place was recommended by a former student who lives in Europe; we are indebted.

I stayed at The Rooms in September 2011 for 4 nights.
Although my room was compact it was well furnished and had a very comfortable bed. The showerroom was faultless.
Breakfast was excellent and, being a single traveller, I enjoyed the communal table and chance to meet other guests.
The residential location of The Rooms is pleasant and quiet yet the journey by metro to the city centre is quick and reliable.
In my view The Rooms is well worth considering as an alternative to staying in the city centre and represents very good value for money
