We just stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Schild after coming off a 12-night river cruise from Amsterdam to Vienna. Although it is not down town, it was easy to reach everywhere by taking the 35A bus then the underground. It cost us 31 euros for a taxi to the aiport. The staff were very helpful and we had a lovely large room with a balcony. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of choices. We can really recommend this hotel.

The Schild has been newly renovated and offers very comfortable and large airconditioned rooms. It is located in the wine district of Vienna, has a beautiful garden and reasonable rates. The friendly and efficient staff made our 30th high school reunion a great success!

We were not disapointed at all during our stay, the service and advice was 1st class, even down to the advice of purchasing a 'Travel' card for all the areas we would be going, so the travel cost was almost nil for the week.
The hospitality in the hotel was very good, the food plentiful and traditional, the only downside to the time we went was that it was only a bed and breakfast service.
The room was fabulous and we thought that we had been given the wrong room to start!, but no the room was huge, with a queen sized bed and all the comfort of home.
The local area had plemty of local wine producers and A large amount of the local red found its way into me!!!!!!

On the whole I would recommed the hotel to anyone looking for a nice, edge of town, edge of country location. We will be visiting agian.
