Recently I stayed at the Hotel Schild in Vienna. It was a wonderful, warm, and comfortable hotel. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very nice and spacious. The buffet breakfast had a great selection and the food was well-prepared.

Booked a cot through Expedia but they did not arrange it, the hotel rang round and found us one when they did not have one available as they did not know about it.
A single room was booked for sister by Expedia but was supposed to be a double which the hotel upgraded instantly.
Reception staff were very helpful, speaking perfect English and even helped out ordering a take away from a German website explaining what everything was.
Rooms, bathrooms clean and good size.
Breakfast was varied and plentiful.
All in all would definately go back, very nice New Years venue and also got a little cake as a thank you for staying there over New Years (nice little touch) but would book direct not through Expedia next time.

We just stayed 3 nights at the Hotel Schild after coming off a 12-night river cruise from Amsterdam to Vienna. Although it is not down town, it was easy to reach everywhere by taking the 35A bus then the underground. It cost us 31 euros for a taxi to the aiport. The staff were very helpful and we had a lovely large room with a balcony. Breakfast was buffet style with lots of choices. We can really recommend this hotel.

The Schild has been newly renovated and offers very comfortable and large airconditioned rooms. It is located in the wine district of Vienna, has a beautiful garden and reasonable rates. The friendly and efficient staff made our 30th high school reunion a great success!
