“A hidden gem.”

The Pension is a little out of the way from the center city, but so quiet and a great bargain. It's not hard to figure out the U-Bahn (subway) system, and it takes about 15 min. to get to the center city. However, you are within easy walking distance of the Schoenbrunn Castle, with its amazing gardens, labyrinth, and charming (and humane) zoo! If you have small children, there's also a nearby park with great playgrounds.

The rooms are immaculate and the beds are really comfortable. Breakfast is basic but entirely adequate, and served with a smile. The staff was so gracious.

In addition, I highly recommend the Stolck restaurant at the entrance of the grounds to the castle. Viennese eat here, it's not a tourist trap, and the menu goes far beyond the endless weinerschnitzel one is offered elsewhere.

Room Tip: Tell them what you would like.

“A Great Deal for a Visit to Schonbrunn Palace”

This pension was a perfect place for us to stay - nice balance of cost vs. comfort vs. convenience. The breakfast buffet included cereal, bread, cheese, meats, juices, fruits and veggies. One block away was Schonbrunn Place, where we spent an entire relaxing day seeing all the attractions. Also one block to the metro, which put us within 10-20 minutes of all the other major attractions in City Center. Two blocks in the other direction was Basic, a European grocery store with fantastic organic and health foods. The amenities were simple, but free WiFi really added to the value. The bed was very firm, the feather pillows very soft. The best part was the management, who treated us so well when the Iceland Volcano stranded us there a few extra days.

“Very good hotel - quiet, clean, comfortable - highly recommended.”

I had a very good stay here - and the price was good as well. The only downside is that it was a bit farther from the city than I thought - but the U Bahn is very close and convenient, and I got into the centre of town quickly. Plus the location was quiet, and walking distance to the Schonbrunn palace which was great. Highly recommended.

“Just like home”

I stayed at Pension Schonbrunn for 4 nights in September 2008. I was meeting a group at the airport on the 5th day so I was all alone at the Pension.

As a woman travelling alone I felt really secure, the staff was the best I could wish for, very polite, very helpful and speaking very good English. They all went out of their way to help me out when I needed something I forgot to bring. They gave me good points as to what to select to do some sightseeing as well as what I should see and not.
Breakfast was the European way which is not like what I eat each day in my Montreal home but it was good and the food was fresh.

I recommend this Bed and Breakfast to any woman travelling alone needing a place to feel secure.

“Comfortable, clean and convenient”

We stayed for three days recently and were very pleased with everything. Our room was spotlessly clean, large, bright and overlooked a pretty courtyard (where one could sit in warmer weather). We parked our rental car in the garage at a much lower rate than other hotels we considered. Breakfast was plentiful. The hotel manager provided excellent directions for getting around both by car and public transportation. We dined twice at Restaurant Schwabl, just up the street and around the corner, and enjoyed it immensely.
