“Just better than sleeping on street”

All the other guys said are very correct. We have been in this hotel for 2 nights with out tourist group. There were no chance. This hotel is student hostel from 1960 or 70. No signe of mantaining the things in hotel. I think, the newest thing in hotel is 20 years old. The bath room is with full of black mould. The photos in many webside are Photo Shop photos. When you come in to hotel, you feel like you are in very big kitchen with terrible smelling, even all the floors, except rooms. Please be very careful when you select it, i suggest do not do. Some positive things are, be very colse to city centre, clean bed sheets, hot water, paid internet (5€ day)

“One of my worst hotel experiences”

First the good points.
The hotel location is very good, within walking distance of the City Centre and all the major attractions, and with easy access to public transport if preferred.
The bathroom was clean, also the bed linen and towels. The staff were friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was ok.
Now the bad points.
The hotel is clearly designed as student accommodation. Our room was just like a room in a university hall of residence, and was designed to have a single bed, so that with the double bed there was very little space on either side. The room was dingy, and in urgent need of decoration. The carpet was not clean, and there was a faint smell of tobacco. The TV was ancient, and only had German language stations. There was no shaver point in the bathroom, and no extract fan.
There were no coffee/tea making facilities. There was a charge for the use of the safe (at reception), and internet access was charged at 1 Euro for ten minutes(at a nearby internet cafe we had 50 minutes for the same price).
The hotel is in the course of having a an extra storey added and there is constant noise of drilling and other construction activity. We were awoken at 7 am each day by the sound of a pneumatic drill. When I complained about this we were offered another room, but this was just as bad. I asked why we had not been warned in advance of the construction noise, and was told that it was "nothing to do with the hotel". I found it hard to believe that they had nothing to do with having an extra floor added.

“Not the best, but still good”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 September 2010

The hotel is really not the perfect place you can find in Vienna but it has many advantages-it's located at the centre of the city, next to the Parliament, the rooms are not so bad ( i actually expected them to be worse than they were) - they have everything they need to have. However, you should have in mind that sometimes the lights in the bathroom are switched off if they were kept switched on for more than half an hour. It was really unpleasantly! The breakfast was very good. I mean that the prizes are really not very kind for a hotel at the centre of Vienna. So, the breakfast included some kind of scramble eggs, fruits, toasts, ham and different kinds of yellow cheese. The staff were very polite and they seemed to be happy dealing with the problems you might face!! I would recommend this hotel to tourists who want to stay at the centre of Vienna and use their hotel for nothing, but sleeping.

“the breakfast was terrible and the services need improvement!”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 July 2010

I stayed in the hotel in July 2010. I must admit the outside facade was really bad, and the room was really small with 2 beds that were miles apart. There was no air conditioning and the room was really hot. The breakfast really needs improvement, service there was non existent and there was very little choice of food, only some scrambled eggs and cereal. Would i stay there again? Certainly not. Cant say its low budget either, and would be unlikely to recommend it to anyone.

“sovjet flash back”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 September 2008

my wife and i stayed 4 nights at this 3 stars rated hotel.
I would rate it a 2 star Student home.
Seeing we have a Ukranian background we suffered from a back to the USSR flash back.
Overall communal areas were clean. Room had lots storageroom, bathroom urgently needs renewel (light turns itself on/off), no hairdryer, no ventilation.
Bed was spacious but matras and pillows were too soft.
Breakfast was dull and poor. First day were appels and pears,
second day the apples were out of stock and from the third day no fruit at all !! Juice was some kind of lemonade from a machine.
Very good were the staff (helpfull, friendly), 24H check-in,free of charge luggage storage after check-out and the location is beyond comments top !
