Sometimes one gets the feeling that in the first district everything can be rented, even though the hotel rooms are everything else than comfortable and would need all urgently a renovation.
The breakfast was ok.,but certainly not great. The only advantage of this hotel is the location near the Schwedenplatz and also in walking distance (15 min.) to the Stephansdom, but other than that I would certainly not refommend it, if you want to spend a pleasant stay in Vienna. The price was quite reasonable, if you don't mind the rest.

This place is well situated to see everything you want in Vienna. The centre of town is a mere 10-20 min very pleasant walk. It was also on the train line for the Vienna Centre which was good for me.
Be careful, however with the room you request. The first night I stayed was in a room facing the street (64 euro per night). It was by far the loudest room I have ever stayed in, to the point where I got about 3 hours sleep for the whole night. Even with the windows closed I could hear every car driving down the cobblestone street outside as though it was driving through my room! I could hear every conversation taking place on the street very clearly. Having said that, I approached the manager the following morning and he was more than happy to show me some of the other rooms that were available. I ended up paying 20 euros more (after a small negotiated discount) to stay in a larger and nicer room facing the courtyard where noise wasn't a issue at all.
One big plus of this place is security. It is very secure!! Make sure you arrive before 10pm or the reception closes.
I didn't try the breakfast. It didn't look all that invited and I felt like eating in town!
It was a nice stay.

I barely got a wink of sleep in this place - it was awful. Firstly, the walls are so thin - I could hear the people in the room above walking, talking: is this normal for Austrian buildings? I'm British and I rarely have this kind of problem in my country. Secondly, the bedroom window opened out into a courtyard. It was a hot summer night and some people decided to sit in the court yard, drinking and talking - I could hear every word they said and the noise was unbearable. I had to retreat to the living room to sleep there - but even from the living room, I could hear this old man who decided to do some chores at about 6 am. Unreal. When my alarm clock went off, I was so tired and unable to enjoy my day in Vienna. For this amount of money, I expect to be able to sleep decently - never mind the very old fashioned design of the place or the horrible breakfast, all I want is a decent night's sleep and I certainly did NOT get that. Awful. Just awful. Avoid!!
