The service started off on a bad foot the minute we arrived when the desk clerk didn't offer to wheel my bag down the hall. Yes, that is minor, but when I returned to the desk 15 mins later the clerk informed me that I would only be able to stay 2 nights instead of the 4 nights originally booked 6 weeks prior. I was informed it was a last minute decision since no one else was staying at the hotel and they wanted to close by the weekend to start their month long break sooner. The clerk mentioned he would find us reservations for the same price nearby, but that didn't happen. Finally on the morning we were booted out I stood by the desk as he called around. He located a place and stated it would be 75 euro a night. He didn't offer to help walk our bags the few blocks to the new hotel or call a cab. When we arrived at the new hotel, after wheeling our bags through the snow, we were told the room was 79 eruo per night. The new hotel also informed us that they get many patrons from Hotel Franz- who constantly overbooks in the high season.
During all that inconvinience the clerk was NOT apologetic stating it was no big deal for us to move. He also was not very friendly or informative. We did receive a slight discount on our stay, 65 euro instead of 75 euro but need to pay in cash, not credit card as the website states is available. Can't count how many times we were reminded to have cash when we checked out. We were also asked to pay at check-in...thank goodness I didn't.
Hotel was rough around the edges as stated, but clean and comfy. Good location, nice view of the church.
If you have a back up plan you can consider this place.
