The Hotel is quite nice and the prices are not very high. Good breakfast but rooms are rather small. An advantage is a location and a history of this place.

On the plus side, our room was reasonably sized, with a high ceiling. There was a nice bathroom with a shower and tub. Some of the rooms only had a shower. However, the dust and dirt my bag picked up from the floor indicated a failure to vacuum. There was no air conditioning, so the room was a little warm. Of the eight hotels we occupied on our 18 day tour of Germany, Switzerland, and Austria, this one had the most meager breakfast.

One couple in our party had a problem with their room. The bed covering was coated with what appeared to be dog hair. When the couple complained, the hotel personnel did nothing but replace the pillows. The hair was still all over the bed. At that point our guide got involved and demanded that the couple be given a different room. The man at the front desk claimed there were no other rooms available. Only after our guide threatened to move the couple to a different hotel did the front desk "find" another room, which was right across the hall from the original room.

We stayed 7 nights in mid-August 2011. Found the hotel pleasant and clean, with some character and interesting details. It's very well situated on a charming street, near many lovely sights and close to subway and trams 1 and 2.

My main concern had been that there is no air conditioning, but we were fine because our room faced the next door building and not the sunny courtyard. That's what I would ask for in the future if staying in summertime. Also, the room was very large, with a high ceiling and tall windows, so not stuffy at all -- quite nice actually. Really liked the lacquered parquet floor and roomy wardrobe with many hangers, small safe and a mini refrigerator. Bathroom was new and spotlessly clean.

The Wi-Fi in lobby is free and there is a computer there that can be used free of charge. Use of in-room Wi-Fi costs 8€/day.

Included breakfast was ordinary -- fresh breads and cold cuts were fine, coffee okay and diluted "juices" terrible.

Just down the street (at Fleischmarkt 16) there is a café Diglas Konditorei that serves gorgeous Viennese desserts and coffees, and has a delightful, cosy interior.

Have just returned from a four noght stay in Vienna and we wanted to praise the Hotel Post.
It's ideally located, very close to the city centre and Ringstrasse with all it;s tourists attractions. We were just two minutes from the river Danube and twenty minutes from the Prater ferris wheel. The hotel is very clean and the staff are very friendly. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis, but you can get an evening meal there.
As a base to explore the amazing city of Vienna you will struggle to find better. It is very reasonably priced for a city break hotel.
