I visited Vienna for a week in July with my partner, and we stayed in a Standard City Apartment (211). The apartment is spacious enough for two people, with a large living room, and a smaller bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen is minimal, but enough for a short stay.
The kitchen is next to the bathroom, and the layout is a bit odd - you need to keep the bathroom open if you want to open the fridge.
The furniture and design for the standard apartments is very basic and a bit old - nothing like the sleek pictures found on the website (those I assume are the superior apartments). Still, it's comfortable and functional. Free wifi is available, and in the direct neighborhood you can find all kinds of shops, bars and restaurants. There are also washing machines you can use on the premises, and the staff is very helpful and polite.
Our living room was facing a large park, which was really nice. The bedroom was facing the courtyard, and sometime in the late evening you could hear people chatting or having a drink outside (which is something we did ourselves, it's a really nice courtyard), however the noise usually stopped before midnight.
The bed was ok - the mattress could definitely be much firmer though.
The gym at the Levante Parliament, which guests can use for €10/day, is nicely designed but has only 1 lifting machine and 3 cardio/trademills. It has a nice sauna and relax area though. If you are looking for some real exercise it is not big enough, but it can be a good option to relax.
However, the major drawback of the apartments is the lack of air conditioning. If you are visiting Vienna in the summer, temperatures stay easily above the 30 C (86 F), day and night. Without air conditioning it is very hard to sleep if you are not used to it. Keeping the windows open helps a little bit, although you get both the street noise and the mosquitos, which infest the city, especially between 9 and 11 pm.
From my experience, the Laudon apartments are a good choice if you want a bit more space and flexibility than a normal hotel room at a comparable price; being able to prepare your own meals is a great advantage when you stay more than a few days in a city, and the added space of a living room comes in handy when you want to do some work or relax.
But beware of staying at the Laudon during hot summer days, if you are not used to sleeping in very hot nights - and I really can't understand how the Laudon describes itself as "luxury" without air conditioning in the rooms.
