Hotel is located very close to a metro stop which was clutch. WiFi was 15 euro for 2 night stay which was a little dumb but not going to complain too much. Breakfast was pretty good including fresh bread, fruit, meats, and scrambled eggs. Bed was 2 twins put together (norm in Europe) but after a full day of walking the city streets it felt like a feather bed to us. Rooms have AC. Overall, it's an OK hotel that serves all of your purposes. I would recommend if price is around $100/night but not much more than that.

I stayed at the Hotel Deutschmeister for 3 nights during a business trip. The location is very good as the subway station is 2 minutes walk. The rooms are ok, eventhough air conditioning is missing. It gets very noisy at night when guest are returning and I was awakened a couple of times during the night. Otherwise the hotel is average. Breakfast was ok but the breakfast area is rather small and the service was quick and friendly.

We stayed 2 nights here. The location is OK--a couple blocks from the metro & a couple blocks in the other direction to the trams. Otherwise, there's not much to see nearby. The rooms were fairly quiet because the hotel is in a courtyard and off the street. It is an older hotel and the rooms were rather small.
They charge for wi-fi.
Breakfast was OK--nothing special.
The staff spoke adequate English and were helpful in locating places we wanted to visit.

The location can't be beat. It's within walking distance to city centre and a subway station right at the doorstep (well...almost. About 2 mins. walk). Other than that the service, amenities and maintenence are so-so. Just about average. I wonder how the 4-star rating comes about. However, the staff are very helpful.
