“Great location, friendly staff, good for the price”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 17 August 2011

The building looks a bit rundown at first but, once inside, it's nice. Nothing fancy (except the entrance hall) but certainly adequate and clean. All rooms have a double bed, even the single rooms which is nice. The bed was comfortable and the bedding really fresh and 'fluffy'. Rooms are a decent size. A kettle and teabags are provided in the rooms. The TV is pretty small but reception is good. The rooms face onto a yard which isn't pretty but has the advantage of being quiet. The location is fantastic and you can visit numerous sights on foot. The Sigmund Freund museum is just around the corner and the Votive church is across the road. This hotel is not for people looking for luxury but if you want adequate accommodation in a central location for a good price, you can't beat it.

Room Tip: Room 16 was near the reception area so I could hear people going in and out. It didn't bother me...

“Great location, good service, clean and quiet”

Hotel is in walking distance from the Old Town, Rathaus and U-Bahn. Tram is right in front of the entrance. The reception has free internet and very friendly staff. There is only a breakfast room with basic food and drink choice, no resturant. Fair shower and bathroom, but without hairdryer in the room, you can get one from the reception. Mini-bar, small lockable safe and satellite TV in the room.

Rooms are looking to the back yard and very quiet. Walls ar pretty thin, so you can hear activities in next room.

The location is excellent for sightseeing, as so easy to walk anywhere. You can park (they charge 4,5 EUR) in adjoining streets at the public parking spots, just ask at the reception for details.

“Good location but a little tired.”

This hotel is not flash but is located well for restaurants, coffee shops, public transport.
The staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was adequate.
There was no aircon but we got a fan from reception as it was very hot weather.
There was free internet.
We'd recommend a cellar restaurant called "Melker Stiftstellar". Turn left out of the hotel and walk 5-10 mins on the main road past the train stop and through the small square. It is on the right hand side as the street narrows past the Spa grocery shop. There is nothing to see from the road but the food and service is great for a reasonable price.

“reliability”

Actually I stayed in this hotel three times so far, two times in Autumn 2009 and last time in February 2010. I had a special opportunity to visit Vienna and this hotel since I came with a collegue on a medical purpose. It is obvious that coming back to this hotel means I and we were content of services and staff. The rooms are clean, comfortable and silent. We felt safe and surrounded by friendly people even from the reception, more than this some of them are speaking Romanian... which was very good especially for my collegue. The location is also very convenient, close to most of the places to be visited in the city.
Breakfast could be enriched, the entrance door could be renovated. For the rest, everything's OK.
See you there in June! !We will be going to this hotel again in the last decade of June....

“Great location, quiet comfy room but basic facilities”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 August 2008

Close to the "Ring", Old Town, Rathaus and U-Bahn, Tram outside the door. Entrance a bit dingy, but once inside the Hall like a Palace, they say it was an old Palace.

Tiny reception with internet, very friendly staff. Only a breakfast room, no bar or resturant. I asked for non smoking, quiet room and as a single traveller was giving a nice sized, very quiet double for single use, no view as internal, just a small coutyard below, sadly not owned by hotel so don't look down- just old bikes and bits of furniture from a bar . Nice shower and bathroom, but only soap and one sachet shampoo- no hairdryer in room need ask reception. Mini-bar, small lockable safe and satellite TV, but only CNN English news not so good for a Brit!

Internet free in reception and noother guest seemed to use it, so checked mail daily. Only 17 rooms and away from road so very quiet. Thin curtains allow light in morning. Pillow a bit soft, bed frim but comfy, good nights rest. Crumbs on carpet left after cleaner had been in, and not polished desk top- otherwise bathroom spotlessly cleaned- only one small rubbish bin in bathroom - always annoys me- how much does a simple rubbish bin cost?

Buffet breakfast okay, included in price - usual bread, cereal ( nice selection), 3 type of juice, 2 cheeses, 3 types meat, jams, cheese foil wraps, fruit, one type of cake and fresh tea coffee served.

Relaxing place and staff chatty and helpful- but feels a bit empty with no lounge or bar.

Great for sightseeing as so easy to walk anywhere. 24 hour reception and feels very safe, would be good for single ladies travelling alone.
