“Great location, but not much more”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 13 February 2012

Unfortunately, during our stay the restaurant was under renovations, which created quite a bit of noise when trying to enjoy a drink or conversation at the bar. The breakfasts were relocated to a function room which we always went to early enough to avoid the constructs noise.

The room was average for the price you pay. Clean, smallish, comfortable, all at a price.

The saving grace of the hotel is its location, just across the road from the train station (s-bahn) and underground metro (u-bahn). I must say though, the hotel can be tricky to find if you're a tourist unfamiliar with the area. Before you visit, make sure you find which street the entrance is on. The in room Internet is quite slow, and can only connect via Ethernet to a laptop. We tried to hook up a wireless router to use iPhones, but no dice.

“Very convenient location”

The hotel is located next to Westbahnhof (train station) which is a big advantage for the travellers having further surface connections by train and who travel by plane for the bus stop to the airport is located there, too, and the bus operates every 30 min from Westbahnhof to the airport. It is particularlly important for those who come to Vienna on shopping tour and might have a bulk luggage on the way back (it would save you either taxi costs or transporting your luggage across the whole city if using the public transport). Besides, the main shopping street - Mariahilfestrasse - is only 3-5 min walk from the hotel. The hotel itself is very cosy, the colours of the room delight the eye. It's nice and clean and there are all the facilities in the room to feel comfortable.

“Well located for station, comfortable hotel”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 February 2012

We stayed here for a weekend whilst travelling around by train. It is about a 20 minute walk to the centre, and the streets around the hotel felt safe even late at night.

The hotel is very close to the station: literally across the road from one of the exits. Check-in was friendly and efficient.

The room was quite small but comfortable with a good shower and bath. We did not eat any meals at the hotel as the restaurant areas were being refurbished, but the tavern on the corner next to the hotel did good traditional Austrian food with good service and English menus.

This is a good choice if you're travelling to or from the station, but otherwise it would probably make more sense to stay more centrally.

“Don't expect too much”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2012

Good location a couple of minutes from the underground and 20 minutes walk from the central attractions. The hotel is officially 4 star but is nothing to write home about. Our room was small but clean - comfy bed but very thin towels in the bathroom and don't expect fancy toiletries. There seem to be a lot of tour groups. Breakfast was an absolute bunfight - the restaurant is closed for refurbishment so breakfast was in a conference room with people at long tables of 12 or so. It was murder trying to find a seat and staff clearing and resetting the tables were few and far between.

We got a very cheap rate so can't complain but I would not be happy if I had paid a lot for a room.

We stayed for one night in January booking through easyjet holidays.

Positives- clean, well proportioned rooms with comfy beds.

Negatives- you are away from the sights but it's only a 5-10 minute metro or tram ride away.
