Arriving at the hotel by cab is a bit of a bummer. The hotel is in front of huge railway yard, not the typical view you expect in Vienna. Moreover the area is under construction, not welcoming either. The facade of the hotel looks dull, so first impression is not great. However, no further compliants once you pass the frontdoor. The people at the reception are kind, helpful, professional (there were ten of us and we were too early but were quickly helped out anyway). The rooms are not modern but decent, the bed is good. Breakfast ok too. Once back outdoors, you walk some 150 metres from the hotel and swap the railway wasteland for the splendid gardens of the Belvedere, bringing you to the Ring and the heart of probably the most magnificent city in Europe.
