We have booked this hotel for 3 nights for the New Year. Overall the experience from the hotel was very good. Due to having an early flight we have in advance asked the hotel for an early check in (at 7 a.m.) which they were unfortunately unable to confirm, however, when we arrived to the hotel at 7 a.m. they checked us in and offered to go to the breakfast. The hotel is nice but it is a bit worn out and needs a renovation. The rooms however were very clean. They had very comfy beds and absolutely soundproof windows which is a necessity in terms of huge construction going in front of the hotel. The TV was outdated but had really good english channels. The staff was extremely helpful. On arrival we had a problem with the phone in the room and they did everything to fix it almost immediately. The breakfast was OK and the restaurant was very nice. The hotel is a bit far from the city center and the metro and tram stations are some 300 meters away, which was a bit uncomfortable to walk in chilly evenings. But overall I would definitely recommend this hotel.

Very good hotel, clean, comfortable, with a superb b'fast. Tram and bus stops just across the street. Metro station with just 2 stops to city centre is 5 mins walk

I had not stayed at the Prinz Eugen for some years and was delighted to return. Unfortunately, the nearby Sudbahnhof was demolished two years ago and construction of the new Hauptbahnhof will not finish until the end of 2012 making the hotel less convenient for those arriving by train than it once was. That notwithstanding, once at the hotel, the terminus of tram line "D" is just five minutes walk from the hotel and then just a ten minute ride to the Ring.

The rooms are large by Viennese standards; the breakfast buffet is one of the most generous I have encountered; and the staff at the front desk was both friendly and helpful. I look forward to returning to Vienna and staying at the Prinz Eugen when I do.

We arrived early and the staff immediately offered to lock our cases safely away whilst we went off for an hour to grab a bite of lunch. Reception staff were very helpful with direction & information in general. We were not very impressed with the tiny room & asked to upgrade, they immediately offered us a larger room for no additional cost. Breakfast offered a wide & varied range of items and plenty of it.
Only rip off was bar prices, 2 (measured) bacardis & coke (no light/diet mixers available) charged 15.80 euros l was told the cash register could not seperate a single Bacardi from a Bacardi & mixer !!!! To rub salt in the wounds the barman had no change of 20 euros. Needless to say we didn't use the bar again. Also agree with the lack of noise double doors & balconies, absolutely no noise at all, within walking distance of Belvadere Palace which is amazing & worth a visit.
