Great location literally 2 minutes from U3 Stephanplatz station (exit Kartner strasse) and a stones thrown from Stephanplatz. Lovely welcoming staff. The rooms are fine and the breakfast buffet is very good. its the location that makes this hotel such a find - and so easy to get to from the airport. instead of paying 30+ euro it cost me less than 6e to get to the hotel from the airport (S7 train then U3 underground) and all in less than an hour. 5 minutes away from the hotel is the famous Opera house (guided tour is 6.50 and well worth it) and after head across the road to the Hotel Sacher cafe for a slice of its world famous Sachertorte.

The Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth was an easy trip from the Westbahnhof train station to Stephansplatz. The U-train exit was less than a block from the hotel.

Centrally located in Vienna, the hotel is just off the main street, which puts you very close to the sights, but away from the noise. Walking or taking the train meant that our hotel was easy to travel to and from each of the three days that we were in town.

Nice rooms, nice staff, good continental breakfast, great location, and great price! We visited sites from the Gasometer to City Hall to Bratislava, and the Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth made it simple to travel to and from all of the sights in Vienna!

I had a lot of trouble deciding where to stay in Vienna as there are so many places to choose from. I am so happy with my choice with staying at Hotel Kaiserin Elisabeth. The location is amazing, you can walk to most of the sights, I never caught transportation except to and from the airport. The staff were very friendly and the room was great - neat and clean and spacious enough. I will definitely stay here again when in Vienna.

I have stayed twice in this hotel on business trips in February 2009 and in January 2012. Its obvious advantage is that it is only 2 minutes away from the Stephansplatz, right in the center of town. The hotel looks prestigious and a bit old-fashioned from inside. The rooms seem to have different sizes but I always got a large room with a comfortable double bed (and four cushions). Bathrooms are renovated, large and clean. There is also a mini bar with reasonable drink prices. At the moment of writing, they are doing renovation works on the first floor. I got an 8% discount and paid 126 Euros for my room. Breakfast is included in the price and copious. Last but not least, the staff is very friendly and always willing to help. I'll come again!
