(separate reviews for hotel and restaurant) My wife and I stayed at the NH Vienna for one night because of a 16-hour stopover from Rome to Zurich. The NH is perfectly located for this. We knew it was across the street from the airport when we booked it, but when we stepped out the airport exit and we were literally staring at the NH, it shocked us. How simple is that for an early morning flight?
The rooms were great, the bed and bedding was perfect, and as this is a newer hotel, it was spotless.
Unfortunately, wi-fi and breakfast will cost you extra.
The subway station is about fifty yards away from the hotel which makes heading into town very easy. It takes about 20 minutes to get there (7 stops on the blue line and two stops on the orange line). It cost 3.6 Swiss Franks for the blue line and we didn't buy a ticket for the orange line (oops). The staff at the front desk are very helpful and they have free city/subway maps for you that they'll mark up according to your needs.
This hotel includes an upscale dinner restaurant on the first floor which my wife amd I attempted to patronize. Unfortunately, the staff's attention was directed solely on a few tables of business men. So, 15 minutes after ordering, but having not received so much as a glass of water, we walked. We had a great meal in the bar area with great service however, and at half the amount we would've paid in the restaurant. This may have been an isolated incident as we have no other experience with the restaurant.
