Vienna is breathtaking. The Bellevue hotel, quite the opposite. Reception area was attractive enough, but the moment you are shown to the ancient lifts and stairwell you will start to realise what a terrible state this shabby hotel is in. From stained carpets in the corridors, to a haunted, eerie presence throughout, this stay is one we would like to forget. Our room was dated, smelly and uncleaned from the previous tenants. Yes, really. the bathroom bin was filled to the brim with used sanitary towels and goodness knows what else. Yes, really. There was a thick layer of dust on everything. Tiny, dated television in a far corner of the room was a waste of time. One evening when I had just got out of the shower, the maid decided to walk straight into the bedroom, not even apologise when she saw me, the proceed to check the minibar whilst I gawped at her in absolute shock. SO rude. The whole experience was entirely unpleasant and its a real shame this hotel is still allowed to run in this poor state. My biggest tip..pay a little extra and stay somewhere else!!!
