“Great Hotel!!”

We stayed at this hotel for 4 nights then booked an extra 1! Great locator ion, can walk everywhere... & the metro stop is just up the road! We arrived to a beautiful concierge who spoke English (yay) they were very welcoming and accommodating! Beautiful rooms & comfy beds. It was annoying having no kettle for tea/coffee. Breakfast was a. Little overpriced for what was available but nonetheless we still ate there for convenience! Will def be back!

“Good Location”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 January 2012

My only complaint is that this place is touted as a four star hotel but in my opinion only rates a three star. We stayed three nights in the corner suite on the 12th floor. The view was phenomenal both from the room and the balcony. The suite itself was very roomy and it was nice to have separation between the bathroom, bedroom and suite with doors. I tend to stay up later than my wife and I also smoke so having a separate room with a door and windows to open was very nice. The staff were very attentive and multi-lingual. The location is very central to all the sites and we were able to walk everywhere we went.

The shower was extremely small but manageable for us. The reason I believe it should be a three star is when I compare this property to other four star hotels, they seem to miss on a number of little things. No bathrobes or high quality toiletries. No meaningful room service. My wife and I sometimes enjoy a light breakfast with fresh coffee in the morning before starting our day and is one of the reasons we get a suite when we travel. Your only option is having the breakfast buffet delivered with a surcharge on top of an overly expensive breakfast. At these prices and with most other four star hotels, breakfast buffet should be included. We simply chose to eat at small cafe's in the morning. The cable selections were also very limited.

Also, I saw another review that complained of a lack of coffee or tea service in the room. On our second day, I read the hotel's list of services and noticed you could ask the front desk for a coffee/tea maker. It is basic instant coffee with some teas to choose from. Again, a four star hotel would have these in the suites with a higher quality coffee maker and coffee.

Dear surfsup821!

Thank you for posting your impressions.

We are happy to read that you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your compliments regarding the advised room, the staff and the location.

Of course we also noticed your remarks regarding our breakfast offer. As you wrote correctly we do not offer a “lighter” option to the breakfast buffet, which one could alternatively order to the room. This may be an interesting approach.

Tea and coffee making facilities can be requested at the reception. We regret that you missed a higher quality coffee maker directly in the room and noticed your suggestion.

We still hope you enjoyed your stay and thank you for your important information.

With kind regards

“3 very nice nights in Vienna with my parents, across the park.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 9 January 2012

I stayed at AM parkring in September of 2011 with my mom and dad. It was part of a Euro trip that we started in Hungary, than Vienna and Prague. I researched for at east 2 weeks before deciding on this hotel. It was very important to have a nice full breakfast. Which it was ! Amazing selection, fruits, pastry, eggs, sausage, salami, cheese AND CHAMPAGNE!!! every morning. DID i mention the amazing view from the tables?? It was righr across the park, and we took nice morning walks there. On our first day we also ran into some ticket sales guy who gave us a great deal for the concert that was held in the building inside the park. We were not planning to end our day with a concert so it was a very enjoyable surprise. It was also a 10-15 min walk from the center of the city, 20-25 min from the Sissi Museum and castle, Sacher Hotel ( where you must try the "Torte" few min walks to sushi places, real Wiennese restaurants etc. The rooms very nice...my parents stayed in a double occupancy room, which was great and had a sofa and chairs and a view toward the park. I stayed in a single room, which was OK, had a desk ( great for my laptop). free Wifi and a view to the side of the park. The only interesting thing was that my room had 2 small beds, both pushed against the opposite wall, and although it may be a great solution for the " backpacker type" i would have preferred one, slightly larger bed. Also a separate shower would have been nice for my mom because she had a broken hip and a surgery a few years ago and cannot lift her legs too high..getting in and out of the tub would have been difficult without the helping hand of my father. Otherwise a happy choice in hotel options. OH before I forget. It was my parent's aniversary and the staff showed up with a nice bottle of champagne ...which I thought was a nice touch !!!

Dear AggieSK,

thank you for your detailed review.

First of all we are very happy that you choose our Hotel Am Parkring for your Vienna vacation and for celebrating your parent’s anniversary. We have read your comments carefully and thank you for your compliments and the posted pictures.

The room you became was an upgrade to the booked single room, so a bit bigger and with two beds in it!

We regret that the bathroom with bath tube caused some problems and have noted your improvement suggestion.

We hope to welcome you back soon in Vienna and wish you and your family, in the meantime, a nice winter.

With best regards

“5 Star location, service and view !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 January 2012

We spent the 23rd December until the 26th at this lovely hotel. We had an amazing room on the 13th floor with a large balcony. The room was spacious and it was spotlessly clean. The view from the balcony would take your breath away.

If you are looking for a nice hotel in an excellent central location with very helpful and professional staff then look no further ! From our initial booking a few months ago to our checkout the staff were on hand at all times to answers any queries we had and to provide us with restaurant recommendations etc. We opted to stay on a room only basis as there were so many nice cafes nearby within walking distance. During our stay we had breakfast at Haas & Haas Tea house just behind St Stephen's Cathedral, and we also had breakfast in the lovely Cafe Schwarzenberg.

For dinner we had wonderful reasonably priced meals at the nearby Huth Da Moritz Italian Restaurant and Gasthaus Zu den 3 Hacken which is a very quaint local Austrian restaurant.

Vienna is a beautiful city, it is so safe and clean and the people we met were so nice and helpful. We had a wonderful visit to the Spanish Riding School on December 24th, it was a lovely experience to see these great stallions exercise.

Danke once again to all the staff and management of Hotel Am Parkring for making our Christmas stay at your hotel a very memorable one. Get booking and enjoy this lovely city.

Room Tip: Rooms on the higher floors seem to have larger balconies and of course better views of this lovely c...

“Vienna -stunning city!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 12 December 2011

Arrived Thursday 8pm-ish on the 8th December. How to get to the city?? Taxi €38 or CAT train €18 or "normal" train €3.60 - guess... We took the underground to Landstrasse (Wien mitte) station and emerged in front of the Hilton by the Park. Literally walked along the top of the park and down the side. Am Parkring is located between the Mariott and the Radisson and these at Christmas you cannot miss -so well lit i think they can be sen from space lol. Staff were brilliant - so so helpful. When my partner asked for cigarettes, one of the staff put on a coat and went out and bought them for him because the hotel had run out!!! Amazing staff, warm - great balcony views over the city - brilliant power shower, cleaned daily 10 out of 10 and the location is superb. You can walk to all of the sights

Dear bioboy!

With pleasure we read your comments and are happy that we were able to offer you a great vacation.

Your compliments have already been passed to the staff. Thank you.

Vienna is for sure worth a stay during the Christmas season with its great decorations and lights; but the city has a great program the whole year on. So don’t hesitate to visit us back soon.

Kind regards
