We are an English/Australian couple and used to live in this district of Vienna. We love it for its somewhat Bohemian feel. Now we live outside Vienna and are often looking for a good and affordable Pensionsin which to stay when we visit. Until now we have always gone to different Pensions as there hasn't been one that has given us the feeling of wanting to go back. WELL... look no further, Hotel am Brilliantengrund is refreshingly different from the run of the mill Pensions. From the moment you walk in you are aware of the cosy aspects of this Biedermeyer building. Marble floors, wrought iron staircases, the classic inner courtyard (around which the rooms are situated and accessed by the typical Viennese outside walkway) along with really comfortable mattresses and the freshest, tastiest breakfast all go to make this quite a unique Pension experience. The staff are really kind and the breakfast crew can never do enough for you. Don't ignore the crispiest, tastiest bacon and the freshest rolls ever had in a B&B!

I have stayed at this Pension as a solo traveller, on business, and with my Partner for our Anniversary. Both the single and double rooms were spacious and comfortable. WiFi and Parking are also available. Hotel am Brilliantengrund is also only a 20 minute walk into the 1st District and for those who require transport, the 49 Strassenbahn is a 2 minute walk away; this will take you straight to the Museums Quarter from where the 1st District is only a 10 minute walk away.

This really is a jewel of a Pension - ENJOY

Conveniently located between two metro stations (Ziegler and Neubaugasse), this hotel is a great find. Walking distance from either station is approximately the same, it takes about 10min to walk from the metro station to the hotel. However, I think Neubaugasse is slightly nearer. From Neubaugasse station, you can get to the historic city centre or museum quarter in less than 10min. The hotel is located away from the busy streets so it’s very quiet at night. Free WIFI is provided in the room and lobby area. The room is huge but comes with a small TV. The extremely cheerful and helpful staff made the stay fun and enjoyable. Simple American breakfast is provided daily.

The hotel is not far from metro station, 3 minutes by walk. I was lost at the beginning but that’s because I didn’t prepare the map but only hotel’s address. In fact it’s not that difficult.
The receptionists were friendly, spoke English well and were willing to help. Also you can put your luggage in a small room before check in and after check out.
The single room was small but enough space for me. The bed was comfortable; at least I slept well and felt relaxed.
The breakfast buffet was quite nice, in a small hotel, in reasonable price. I would recommend because of their Quality/Price.

Hotel is strategically located,easy walk to many major attractions.Close to underground train station,short ride (10 mins)to city centre.
Rooms are clean(definitely better facing courtyard!).We asked for that and hotel was very helpful. Service is excellent.Breakfast is good .
Nice cosy place for family stay.
Very convenient,so close to Mariahilfer shopping street.

Hotel is a little old but well maintained.

Would be nice to have some coffee/tea facilities in room.
