nice looking hotel, somewhat close to the U (metro). very pricey breakfast (15Euro). nice supermarket accross street.

Minus: Very hard matrasses. I got pain in my back every morning.
The breakfast was ok.

Decent hotel with free WiFi-get the password from the front-office. Good breakfast with hot sausages, scrambled eggs, cereals and muesli, cold meats, cheeses, pastries and apple struddel (it's Austria!). Clean good-sized rooms. You could walk here from the main train station-it'll take you a good 15 minutes or you could take the underground train 1 stop to Ziegleerglasse station on the U3 from Westbanhoff station. Get the Vienna card, costs 18.50 euros and is valid for 72 hours-besides free travel on the underground and trams, you also get reduced entries into the museums. Go to the music-greats houses(all managed by Vienna Museum)-Haydn's House is on the road parallel to the hotel road! The staff (a Filipino lady and a German guy) manning Haydn's House are the most friendly and chatty people ever! then go to Schubert's Birth Place and then his death place-but beware Schubert's death place (or residence where he last stayed when he died-less morbid this way!) Only opens on Wednesdays and Thursdays.
Elena (front office assistant manager) knows Vienna inside-out. Great help when it came to marking out the sites and underground stations on the map for us. Maria who worked the nights when we were there was also another very friendly front office staff.
Bool a concert at the Vienna State Opera House (Wien Statsopera) and Musikverein-both world-class music hall-( both on the top ten on yahoo's list of music halls). Both of them are on the U1 line, get off at Kaisplatz station. To get back to the hotel, stop at Stephanplatz station on U1 (just a stop away from Kaisplatz) and then get off at Zieglerglass on the U3. We are now semi-experts when it comes to the metro line of Vienna! You guys benefit from our experience! enjoy Vienna and its music-don't miss MusikHaus (House of Music) also-very well done up modern museum dedicated to music and the great masters of yesteryears. A short walk from the Vienna Stasopera.
Give the Wien Museum a skip though. Waste of money and time. looks very impressive from the outside but its very dry and a bit off-beat also their exhibits-quirky but in a bland-way exhibits. Am I making sense?!

The multi-lingual staff were all so pleasant and helpfull. Made reservations for us. Put extra pillows in room. They were very knowledgeable about events, directions, schedules, prices. Extra praise to the front desk ladies, Corina, Doris, and Elena. Buffet breakfast was massive with lots of selection. Good service and clean. Thank you.
