First of all, being a Romanian we got scammed by the company "Interra" from Romania. We overpaid for 4* hotel from 30th December to 2nd of December 1200EUR/room. I was so persuasive that I invited 2 more couples.

When we arrived we received very poor rooms in nearby building. The rooms were awful: fungus on the walls, the paper wall was missing in some parts, furniture of bed quality, and to be honest I felt like I travel in time (in a bed time).

After a long argument with the management we decided to leave the hotel, nevertheless they were persuasive and convinced us to stay on an upgraded room.
On the hotel restaurant I saw a rat (probably Ratatouille) :) - and this is not a joke.

The Viennese ball was really great.

The hotel is old and needs repariment. DO not go there!!!

Hotel is right next to Schonbrunn Park, where you can see Franz and Sisi's Schloss. Although it's far away from the center of the city, it has great connection via U4 line, which is 5 min walk from the hotel. In 15 min you are in the center of Vienna. It is an old hotel, but with the kindest staff and best breakfasts. Rooms are clean, you get new towels every day... I've read that some people judge this hotel based on the curtains 'that are dirty and old '. I really haven't noticed that, but then again I was more into sightseeing of the city, which is what I came for after all. I warmly recommend this hotel. If you're not looking for something luxurious, just clean room and linen, where you can rest after a full- day walk, this hotel is all you need

This hotel is in a great area. Just steps away from the Schonbrunn Palace and Gardens. It is also right across the street from the metro! Using the U4 metro line will take you to Vienna's city center in 15 minutes. This is a budget hotel in a great location.

The hotel is overdue for renovation. The layout of the hotel is very confusing! As you walk the hallways, you will regularly see stained carpet and peeling paint. Additionally, it sometimes seems that air does not circulate well in certain areas of the hotel. I was thoroughly disappointed with the breakfast buffet. During both mornings of my stay, the bread and pastries were dry and stale. *HOWEVER*, a huge plus of this hotel is its very spacious rooms. I was pleasantly surprised!

Word has it the hotel will soon close for renovations. So, it may not be a budget location too much longer!

Hotel overall ok but we were there for an evening function and the organisation was not good. Do not know if it was the organisers or the hotel itself. Overpriced drinks in the bar.
However, we were NOT impressed when we found out in the morning that our order for breakfast in our room was not picked up and when we called reception we were told 'We have a breakfast buffet downstairs'. Was this Fawlty Towers or what? Basil Fawlty: 'Is it your legs?? Most of our guests manage to struggle down in the morning.' They might just as well have said that. Appalling service.
Why offer room service if you can't be bothered to provide it?
And yes, the hotel could do with a good refurbishment.
