We spent one wonderful night at this hotel.Beeing LHW members, they upgraded our room to a junior which was big and beautiful.They even gave us complimentary continental breakfast and sent Kugelhopf(a traditional austrian cake) and fruits in the room.
The only "problem" was that we were all waiting to feel an aristocratic air instead of so loud voices and unpolite people on breakfast or in the lobby where a pianist was singing so nice!

We stayed three nights at this grand hotel, it was decorated for Christmas and was breathtaking. Arriving 3 hours before check in we were surprised to find our room ready with an upgrade to a much larger room and a view of the Karntner Ring - there was even a yummy Kugelhopf and fruit waiting for us!! The room was warm even with the thermostat at its lowest so we slept with the windows open a bit and didn't hear any street noise. We had room service one late night for dinner and it was amazing, we felt like royalty - and its very reasonably priced. We also had room service for breakfast and it was just perfect. The king size bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was huge and beautiful - the same type of marble that is used in many European hotels. The front desk staff was helpful with directions and recommendations for restaurants. We found the servers at breakfast to be efficient but not friendly.

Beautiful and stately hotel. Everything about it was elegant and top notch. Having just come from Budapest and staying at the Grisham Palace Four Seasons, which was elegant but extremely overpriced, we weren't sure what to expect in Vienna. This hotel was worth every dollar. We didn't have a suite here, but we did have a deluxe room which was beautifully decorated with an Old World feel. Everything about the room was great, including the free wi-fi. and the nightly turn down.The location was perfect. We could walk to many places.This was our first time in Vienna and 2 nights were not nearly enough. Hope to go back next June and will definitely stay at The Grand Hotel Wien again.

The thing I loved most about this hotel was the pianist in the lobby. He played so beautifully, he kept me awake for hours sipping on my tea and enjoying his music! I would return for this alone but the rooms need to be updated first. Otherwise the hotel has potential of being Grand.
