“most accomodating hotel”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2009

My husband and l were there part pleasure part business.
We found the Managing Director to be the most helpful person, nothing was to much trouble.
The staff very accomodating, the food perfect.
Our stay was most charming. We will go back one day when time allows.
We have a small Country House Hotel in Gillingham Dorset, so for us it was just what we needed to switch off.

Stayed March 2006, travelled on business

“Ok But Doesn't Live Up To The Photos”

My husband and I had really looked forward to staying here based on the beautiful photos of a pink palace like hotel shown all over the web. First and foremost, the hotel is not even the same color as in the photos. Second, a majority of the main building is completely off limits as it appears to comprise of ballrooms for large events. We stayed in a room in the main building rather the annex. The room was of moderate size but was dark, drab and looked as though my grandmother had decorated it. The only on-line access is through a single computer in the lobby. The most disappointing aspect was the very young and undertrained staff. I am in my early 30s and was shocked at how immature and unhelpful the staff was in a hotel that represents itself as a sophisticated facility. None of them could have been older than 22. This hotel is not worth the high price tag in light of the plethora of other excellent hotels in the city.

We spent a week-end there in November 2003 and would like to stay there again when we come back to Vienna.

A lot of atmosphere. Friendly and smiling staff.
The hotel is located a little bit outside of the city center, but nothing is very far in Vienna.

“The Hotel im Palais Schwarzenberg feels too good to be true.”

A dream hotel in a dream city. You wake up and look out the window at a magnificent private park, with allees of trees, statuary, a Baroque fountain. Though housed in a palace, the hotel is cosy, more like a country inn in some ways, but with exceptional service, atmosphere, and food. Amazingly prompt room service, super friendly staff, and a brilliant location on the edge of the old inner city.

“Thought staying in a real palace would be the perfect end of our vacation.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2004

We stayed 2 nights here in October, 2002 and planned what we thought would be the most opulent place for the last nights of a 3 week vacation in Germany & Austria. The staff was the best encountered down to our own personal butler who arranged everything for us perfectly, even a personal tour of the palace itself. Even tho we were in one of the lesser expensive deluxe rooms, we were treated as if we were in a Presidential suite. The walking distance from the stairs & elevator to our room was much farther than we would've liked, the bathroom was very small but well-stocked, and the view from our windows looked down onto a very busy main thoroughfare, by far not a choice view; however the windows were thick enough to shut out the street noise at night and large enough to let the cool outside air into the room which had no A/C. We had one breakfast in their terrace restaurant, food being quite good but very poor value for the price tag (50 Euros for 2 when the Euro was within a penny of a US dollar.) The experience of staying in a real palace was worth paying the overall price, its location is within walking distance of most major sights, but next time we're in Vienna, we'll stay at a 5 star with more value to the price. I must say, tho, our personal butler was the best service we've ever encountered. He even got us best seat in the house tickets at the last minute to a symphony at Golden Hall.
