The Hotel Golden Spinne was exactly what we needed - a comfortable and warm place to stay in a good location with a breakfast at a very reasonable price. No, it wasn't outstanding, but at the price we paid, it was perfect. What more could you need?
It was very easy to walk to the centre, and nice to be a bit further out from all the crowds. It was a unique place - very old school, which was kind of neat :) It would be have been fun to get one of the rooms that is done up the way it used to be, but our room was absolutely fine. The bed was slightly hard but I slept fine. I didn't like how we got two single duvets though for a double bed.
The bathroom was very spacious! Lots of place for coats, etc. and a hairdryer as well, which was really helpful.
I could see how you consider this place to be noisy if you had the window open (the train tracks are just below) but it was winter and we hardly ever had the window open.
It was a good place - not amazing, but we didn't expect it to be. It was good - and nice friendly staff who spoke good English. And they let us leave our bags there during the day after check-out even though we were gone most of the day.
Breakfast was decent - good juice, lots of meats and cheeses and rolls and cereals - very typical European breakfasts. But it was filling and tasty.
They also had a computer to use just outside the breakfast room which was handy for us to look up a few last minute things (and check on a few things at home).
