Located a few minutes from Stefansdom, quiet road. reception and ground floor reasonable but very small. Room up in the roof, very clean. Comfy bed, good facilities. Ensuite far too cramped, heating a bit fierce. We had a great 'City Break', but the hotel was OK. Highlight the breakfast room with friendly waitresses and fantastic breakfast.

As expected from previous stays in Vienna the beds and pillows were great and they had a good breakfast but I would look pretty hard to find another place in this area mainly because of the direct unhelpfulness of the front desk operators who I believe are the owners. Any question was treated as a bother or as if the asker was an idiot. A simple is there a pizza place close by (because it was late, we had just arrived and a fellow traveller who had stayed their earlier had said there was) and all we got was a go out turn left, then right there are a lot out there. Not based on those directions. One place recommended for Viennese food was horrible. I asked about another a block and a half away and was treated like I couldn't say the name and like he'd never heard of it. Later I find a card for it in the usual rack of advertisements. A number of us stayed here as a stopover from a trip to Eastern Europe and the consensus was the front deskman was dialing it in. He was on phone and didn't even give us our room keys after standing in front of for over a minute waiting until we interupted him because someone had to use the facilities. The rooms have no temperature control other than hot water heaters on and then open the windows to balance the heat. Less than ideal. I could go on but won't. The reality is that I would look for something else next time I go. There seemed to be lots in the area. If I really had to be in Vienna and had no other options I would stay there again but I don't consider it tourist friendly. I am too used to the type of place that when asked about something nearby will pull out a photocopy map, star your location and when you want to go and then connect the places with a flourescent line. But hey, they did have comlimentary umbrellas to use.

We stayed for 3 nights in May of 2010. The hotel was within easy walking distance to all the major sites. Our room was spacious and well lit. I am a reader and could be anywhere in the room and be able to easily read. The breakfast was the best of our 3 week journey. The coffee was good, the fruit, bread,meat and cheese selection was superb. Would stay again and again.

our room is 3 star with small bath room; facilities is simple but clean; sleep is well and the location is not far away from the St. Stephen chapel (i.e. the main tourist site you must go).
Breakfast with classic Austria food and excellent service and eating environment; made me like at home!
