This is an odd little hotel. It is very well situated to the sights of Vienna, as well as the airport bus. Also, it is close to some amazing gelato (Zanoni & Zanoni or Castelleto).
It definitely has some quirks. First off, other than the lobby, there are no floors until the 4th floor. The hotel is on the 4th-7th floors of the building. So if you opt to bypass the slow elevator and take the picturesque stairs up, know that there are exits from the stairwell, but just not until floor #4. The bathrooms are tiny, tiny, tiny. You can sit on the toilet and rest your head on the opposite wall. And that toilet is a weird backwards version. It feels like you're in a hotel from a story where a girl goes to the big city in the 1920's and has to live in a hotel for a while before she makes it big in the cabaret or something. And it is utterly charming. The stairs are beautiful. How often do you get to say that?
The desk staff are cheerful and helpful. They outfitted members of our group with full size umbrellas after we were caught in a torrential downpour. The breakfast spread is astounding. You could easily pack your lunch from the morning buffet ... I mean, if that were ethical ...
One night there was some bass thumping from somewhere, and there was no AC, but otherwise we slept well with our atrium-facing room. It's within easy walking distance of Stephensdom, the opera, and the Hofburg
