I spent a week here on a business trip to Vienna. The hotel was consistent with my expectations of the Mercure brand. Unsurprising, distinctly average and bland.

The rooms are furnished in a classical style but seem to be slightly uncomfortable in most ways.

Given the choice I would not stay here again. I much prefer something cleaner more modern and friendlier such as the Marriott or Hilton.

I stayed for 2 days at the Biedermeier, conveniently located to visit Vienna, within walking distance of the CAT station (the fast train from the airport). Free internet in the lobby, but not in the room (only for a fee there), room size was ok, very quiet. Nice breakfast (was included in my rate), friendly staff. Will stay there again if I need to go to Vienna.

I recently stayed for 4 nights at the hotel. I enjoyed my stay. My room was a twin room but just me occupying it. The room was clean and a very comy bed, but small and the lighting wasnt very bright. The bathroom was clean and brightly lit. As in another previous report I also had a problem with the shower screen leaking over the bathroom floor. The hotel is situated on the side of a lond passageway, and my room was right on the main road. That meant that I had to walk all the way up the passageway to get in, and then all the way back along the corridor to get to the room. So it was quite a walk each time. The breakfast was very good, plenty of choice, and the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast room was light and bright. The reception staff were also very helpful. The Vienna underground system was quite close. It took me 6 mins to walk to the Landstrasse station where the CAT airport connection can be found as well as the underground (and am not a fast walker). There was another underground station nearer, only about 3 mins walk, Rochusgasse/market but that was only on one underground line.
