The only positive is the location of this hotel - it is only 3 minutes walk from Stephan's Kirche. The hotel interior is warned, the furniture is very basic, cheap and uncomfortable, there is no airconditioning or any small toiletries in the bathroom. If you open the window at night you will not be able to sleep due to the high level of noise coming up from the downstairs restaurant until 2-3 in the morning. The breakfast is also basic. The entire building smells of stale cigarettes. At booking I requested a non-smoking room with a double bed but was given a smelly smoking room with two very uncomfortable single beds 2 meters apart. These were so old they both had huge dips in the middle. All this for EUR155/night. Hugely overpriced, uncomfortable, noisy hotel, I would not recommend it to anyone.

good clean family run hotel offering a respectable 3-star accommodation.
breakfast was a mixed buffet, well presented and with a helpful waitress service.
location is just a few mins from the cathedral - so a good base for city sight seeing.
supermarket is just round the corner (note not open on sundays) for all those extras, water and food supplies.
5th floor has a small terrace wit a view over to one of vienna's churches. could be a nice sun-trap too. only niggle is that this is also the hotels smoking area and you may encounter noise either from the terrace or people coming and going, if you are on the 5th floor.
restaurant next door offers good Viennese fare and a nice cold weissbier.

Location just 3' walk from Stefansdom or Schweden platz is very good. Breakfats is very fine and staff quite helpful.
On the less positiv side, the price which probably is related to its location in the heart of the City Centre. When we arrived the bathroom was not clean. The room are ok but small and with "oldish" decoration. In the summer they must be quite hot as there is little ventilation. They are quite noisy, not in relation to the external world as it is out of the way of trafic sounds. The problem comes from the inside. When people walk and talk in the corridor you feel like they are going to enter your room. No good for late morning sleep, for sure ! If you stay on the 5th floor, learn to be patient on the lift. Tiny and very slow, giving you a taste of the old times !
Learn as well to be patient with hot water in the shower. It seems the water as well needs to take the lift to get to the higher level of the building. In fact the only charming bit of this hotel is the lift ! Be ready to pay the price then !

As everyone says, the hotel is in a great location in the old city near the cathedral. Plenty of restaurants nearby, and lots to see in the local area. Convenient for metro and trams. We had the suite (room 604) for 3 adults. Very spacious and clean. The only downside was that the sofa bed was not so comfortable, and the room should be redecorated and updated. Otherwise it had everything needed, good storage, plenty of space, good free wi-fi etc. Breakfast (included in the rate) was OK, although the choice was quite limited. Staff were very helpful.
