There were 4 days from 16 to 19 December 2011. A beautiful hotel. The oldest in Vienna in two steps from the Cathedral of St. Stephen. Wonderful people. Excellent service. Carried out all our requests and even more. Tasty clean, excellent! We took a two-storey room for a family of four people is white then you need to! We are very pleased.

I have no hesitation recommending the Konig von Ungarn Hotel. We really enjoyed the hotel. It's character fits Vienna and its small size made it very comfortable.
This was our second stay. We were there for four nights this time and thoroughly enjoyed both our stays. The location is ideal for sightseeing, right next to Stephansplatz. There are shops and restaurants in all directions. It is a short walk to many of the central sights and museums and from the Stephansplatz U-Bahn station it is easy to get just about anywhere in the city.
The hotel is small and personal. The rooms are large and the level of housekeeping is outstanding. The room price is reasonable but not inexpensive. It includes an excellent breakfast with tradidtional meats and cheeses, fruit, cereal, breads, eggs, and omelets which are cooked to order. For dinner the hotel restaurant is excellent but pricey. There is a small lounge where you can sit and have coffee or drinks. The front desk staff was invariably friendly and helpful with suggestions, directions, and reservations. In room Wi-Fi is included at no extra charge.
We stayed in Room 201 which faced the narrow street leading up to Stephansplatz. With the windows open (It is air conditioned but we liked the fresh air) there was some street noise. This was not good during trash pickup at 5:00am but very nostalgic when the horse drawn carriages came up the cobbled street to Shephensplatz in the morning.

I stayed in this hotel three times while traveling to Vienna for medical care for my four-year-old. The first and second times we stayed in the older part on the second floor. The room was very spacious and was decorated in an opulent style. The bed was very comfortable, the room was quiet, and the breakfast was very nice. The third time we stayed in the new part. The room was also spacious but decorated in a modern style. I do not recommend the hotel restaurant for dinner. The food was nothing special for the price and there are many better places to go. (Like the oddly named "Goulash Museum" restaurant that is about four doors down from the hotel--scrumptious!) The desk clerk was always very friendly and quickly got to know us by name. He was extremely helpful with restaurant recommendations and reservations. He even let me use his office computer when I had trouble with the lobby computer. (There is free internet in the lobby). I would certainly stay here again, and it is fine for families with children. The location is wonderful, just two minutes from Stephansplatz.

I reviewed this hotel before and am happy to do so a second time. I did check into other properties but decided to go back here because of price and location.

This is perhaps the cleanest property I have ever stayed in. You could not find a speck of dust even on the fancy chandaliers. My husband cut himself and the tiny drop of blood on the floor was gone after the maids came. They even put our pillows from home in their hotel branded pillow cases. On top of that the room was big with a walkin closet and plenty of room to unpack and store suitcases.

One minor downside for us. We had a room that did not open to the outside, it opened into the multi-storied lobby, and it was a bit warm.

The hotel sent us to 3 wonderful restaurants for dinners. Breakfast is an excellent and well stocked buffett with the option of egg dishes.

Like this hotel a lot and would recommend to anyone.
