“Kaiserhof revisited - Best of Kitz!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 February 2011

Last year we spend our skiing holiday in the Best Western Premier Kaiserhof hotel. We were so pleased with the services offered in the hotel and the great location next to the gondola. we could not resist a revisit.
As last year, we were welcomed with a friendly smile and handshake, they remembered our previous visit! As last year, no request was too much. As well as the public spaces within the hotel, the rooms are well appointed in a modern Austrian style with a comfortable and clean bathroom. This year are room was on the 1st floor (room 209) overlooking the Hahnenkamm skiing piste with a nice sized balcony. Last time we stayed on the 2nd floor which has a slightly better view. As per standard in Austria, the room comes with 2 Austrian twins rather than a double. The only minor points on the room: there is no coffee/tea making facility in the room, however room service is available; TV channels mostly are German tv channels, would be nice to have BBC World, english movies to order channel and other main European channels. A dvd player would also be good.
The spa facilities are great, pool could be a bit bigger and the gym is also very small and not very inviting. The spa itself is modern, clean and a great relaxation after a day of skiing.
As the last visit, we opted for half board; enjoyed the amazing buffet breakfast and a la carte dinner. As soon as you walk in the waiters help you to your every desire and are indeed very friendly. It takes not long before they walk up for a friendly chat. The chefs produce mostly typical Austrian food using local food. Dinner is part a la cart and part buffet, different each evening. If you have dietary requirements, they will for sure try to make every effort to suit your every desire. If you like your wine, the restaurant has a good wine list and off course a nice selection of dessert wines.
The reception team tops it all! They are always helpful and are more than willing to help you find your way. I have stayed in a lot of 4/5 * hotels, not many places where you get such a warm welcome! The extended hotel team seem to really jell and make a fantastic team!
We were also informed that this summer the hotel will be partly refurbished annexing a neighboring building.
We will definitely visit again.
Thank you Kaiserhof Team!

Dear Anglo1Belge,

Thanks a lot for your entry and we are very happy that you enjoyed your stays in the Kaiserhof Kitzbühel.

As you mentioned we closed our hotel during the summer 2011 for revitalisation, upgrading and enlargement and therefore we would like to say thank you again for your comments of negative experiences which helped us a lot to improve our services.

With the reopening in December 2011 we are happy to inform you that all rooms are now equipped with a water boiler for tee and coffee as well as a mini bar (the non-alcoholic drinks are free of charge).
Concerning the TV channels we switched to the satellite system so that far more international channels as well as Sky programmes are available now. The new LED flat screen TVs are additionally provided with a special infotainment system so you can use them to surf the internet as well. DVD players and movies will be available at the reception and if you bring your camera or game console with you they can be linked to the TV.

We also enlarged the spa area so we are happy to offer you a new fitness center (equipped with a bicycle ergometer, a treadmill, a cross trainer and a heavy weight trainer) as well as new relaxation rooms.

We hope that we could help you with these details and we are really looking forward seeing you soon!

Kindest regards

Mario Sonnleitner (GM) & the Kaiserhof-Team

“TripAdvisor was Right!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 26 December 2010

To be honest, I was a little skeptical when my husband said we are staying at the Best Western. This amazing hotel is unlike any Best Western I know of. Truly as another reviewer mentioned, the most amazing thing about this hotel is the staff- they understand what customer service is. Everything about this hotel is amazing: the food, the toiletries (which I suggest they sell at a gift shop:-), the beautiful room-but its in the small touches that makes this hotel and its staff truly a gem. The staff made us feel like our every request was their utmost command-they even booked our return train trip for us! I highly recommend one of their packages that include room and board (ours included ski lifts, massages, breakfast and dinner). Please also note that the hotel is very close to the train station so if you need a transfer from Munich-I would recommend the train.

“This hotel just gets better”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 September 2010

We have stayed at the Kaiserhof in September for the last 4 years and this has to have been the best stay yet.

The most outstanding aspect of this hotel is not the building itself, which is excellent; it is the staff. Check in, and out, is a pleasant experience and the staff are all fluent English speakers who do all they can to ensure that all requirements are catered for. They always have a ready smile when speaking and take the time to chat and answer any questions you have about the hotel or the area around Kitzbuhel.

Similarly, the restaurant staff are helpful, friendly and make time to chat with and advise guests on any subject. If only hotel staff in the UK could adopt the same attitude as those at the Kaiserhof, the world would be a better place!

The hotel itself is modern, yet traditional in its construction with light airy bedrooms and superbly finished off bathrooms. Our accommodation was upgraded at no extra cost as there was availability in the better, higher priced rooms and our balconies overlooked Kitzbuhel and the Hahnenkammbahn ski lift which glides silently across the back of the hotel.

If you are into Wellness, there is a small, but pleasant swimming pool and a Wellness area with sauna, steam room, organic sauna, foot spa, infra red booth....the list goes on.

This remains an excellent hotel and I would recommend it to even the most discerning traveller.

“THIS HOTEL IS A TRUE DELIGHT!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 14 September 2010

Seamless is the word that comes to mind when I think of the Hotel Kaiserhof. We stayed for ten nights and everything from the front desk, to the restaurant, housekeeping, bar and spa were run seamlessly. Yet, there was a real feeling of warmth and comfort.

It was clean, quiet and convenient. The food was excellent, and the staff couldn't have been nicer. It took one minute to the lift to take us to the top of the mountain, and less than five minutes to walk into the very historic and charming town of Kitzbuhel. We didn't even need to rent a car.

“Pleasant Hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 25 July 2010

I stayed in this hotel for a few days in order to do some walking with my husband. the hotel was picturesque, lots of pine wood and balcony window boxes full of beautiful flowers and it was very conveniently placed for the town centre. Parking could cost £12 Euros per night but we were fortunate each day to secure a place in front of the hotel which was free of charge.

The staff were pleasant and very helpful. The room was large with a reasonably sized balcony which overlooked the mountains and the gondaliers which ran all day. There was no air conditioning and it was very hot indeed at night. We did not ask for fans as they are not particularly effective on hot nights. The bed was large and comfortable and the decor was lovely with exposed beams. The barman told us that the hotel was only 5 years old and it had been rebuilt. It certainly looked brand new with lots and lots of pine wood.

There were no tea or coffee making facilities, but these soon appeared after a phone call.

The spa area was compact but good. However, one evening the sauna was not working. The steam room was very steamy and effective. There was also a very small solarium type room with wall heaters which presumably help your aching limbs after a hard days walking. There were also foot spas which were good fun. Complimentary towels for the spa area were placed in each room and white towelling baths robes also. These were useful when using the spa. We did not use the pool, but I understand it was small, but pleasant.

Breakfast was good with a selection of breads, fresh fruit salads, the usual ham, cheese, cakes, croissants, pastries, scrambled eggs, bacon. There was also an egg station where chef cooked to order, always with a plesant smile. My favourite was the fresh orange juice machine which gave the freshest orange juice you could have. Meals could be eaten inside or outside next to the small fountain feature. We only ate one evening meal here and it was exceptionally good value - 6 course and the food was beautifully cooked and presented well. The salad bar was good.

Walking around the area was invigorating and by purchasing a ski lift pass, a lot of money was saved. The walks were beautiful and the scenery breathtakingly gorgous and all well signposted.

There were some good restaurants in the town the names of which I cannot recall, but we did not have a bad meal while we were there. There is a variety of different types of food available - Italian, traditional, Indian, Chinese etc.

We went to the salt mine in Saltzburg and this was great fun.

I would recommend this hotel and I would certainly return to Kitzbuhel and stay here again.
