“CAN'T FAULT THE ERIKA FOR FRIENDLINESS, FACILITIES AND GREAT FOOD”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 February 2011

We have just returned from a skiing trip and a stay at the Hotel Erika. The location is perhaps not the best for the ski lits but we took the shuttle bus in the morning and walked back in the afternoon and its only a 10 minute walk through the village centre.
We were greeted by the friendly owners and shown to our room which was a large room with balcony. Very comfortable beds ensured we had a good nights rest. The staff at the Erika are second to none and this is an extremely friendly hotel with returning guests. The food at breakfast was excellent as was the evening meal, we simply could not fault the quality of food. The spa and pool are a great place to unwind after skiing and the hydrotherapy jets fantastic to pummel those aching muscles.
Dogs are welcome and were taken for daily walks by one of the waitresses who clearly loved her job. The Erika is a fantastic place to stay whether you are skiing, walking or golfing.

“Erika Hotel - 1996-1997”

The coziest hotel I've EVER been! Great staff, great food, great swimming pools, great bedrooms, great everything! Facebook does not allow me to put dates before 2007...I stayed there in 1996-1997. I know people who went there after me and loved it as well. I spent Christmas there and it was an unforgettable experience...I went with my whole family and it was nice (we were kids by the time and we loved it) but I think Erika has a very romantic aura so I recommend it for couples!

“Return trip - not disappointed”

First stayed at this hotel in August 2008, and stayed here again recently on a driving trip from Italy to the UK. It was so nice to meet some of the same folks that we met last year! There's a real warmth to the way you are dealt with by the family who run the hotel.

The food is fantastic, the rooms very nice - we stayed in room 12 - some people have commented about the lack of air-con, true, I think that it would be good for the few weeks where the night temperature goes above 23 - 24, but these nights are quite few and far between!

We'll be staying here again.

“Very good hotel overall, with a few drawbacks”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 10 June 2009

We went into the Erika unintentionally, as out first choice hotel, the Tiefenbrunner, was overbooked (or so they said.) The overall experience with the Erika was good, although there were some drawbacks, probably the mian one being lack of air conditioning - a problem in the warmer months as it could be very stuffy at night. Also, the rooms have very thin curtains which let the light shine through at 5am! We didn't find noise an issue, as the road traffic dies down considerably in the late evening, but Kitzbuhel has more than its fair share of chuch bells, which peal with relish from early morning to late at night. Sometimes they produce a veritable medley of tunes lasting several minutes!

Breakfast was the usual continental fare: cereals, fruit, yoghurt and various cold meats, cheese, sausages, scrambled eggs and bacon that isn't really bacon in the British definition. Tea and coffee were served rapidly and efficiently.
Dinner was served from 7pm and consisted of up to five courses: a salad buffet, a starter, soup, main course and dessert. The buffet mainly consisted of potato salad, beans, sauerkraut and lettuce, with tuna occasionally - OK but rather repetitive. The starter was often quite imaginative, well crafted and usually very delicious, as was the main course, of which was a choice of three: meat. fish and vegetarian. The soup was also of a high standard. Desserts were just as good, and you could also have ice cream or cheese if you wanted a change. Overall the food was of an excellent standard.
Unfortunately the TV only had two English language channels: BBC World and CNN. This was really not acceptable, as a hotel of this standard and price range should have offered more.
Given the relatively high price of staying at the Erika, what was offered was rather less than I would have expected, especially with regard to the lack of air conditioning and poor choice of English language TV channels, but then again this is very much a family hotel catering to the well-to-do older clientele (most guests were in the 55+ age range). However, the staff were all very friendly and showed genuine concern for the guests, and the owners clearly made a great effort to ensure that service was of a high standard, which it certainly was.

“Our stay with Nana Erika !”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 22 May 2009

Nice dinners and breakfast........there was a great welcome when you came back cold from being in the snow.........you were offered free tea and leftovers from breakfast. It was like staying in our Nana's house you were offered alot and recieved alot of attention especially after we spilt red nail varnish all over the bathroom!!! The pool was great and there was even a slide! And there was an adults pool too. There was also a spa and it was good. The only thing was there were bold boys in the hotel. They were standing on the slide and wouldn't let the other kids go down it after being told several time to move! Then later that night we recieved a call and according to the people on the phone it was reception but it was those boys prank calling us. We could hear them on the phone outside our doorway!!!!!!!! It was diappointing that you had to be drove into the mountains and that you couldn't ski in and out of your hotel. Overall the hotel and holiday was excellent!
