“A wonderful mountain retreat”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 19 May 2011

We have visited this hotel previously and have been keen to return. Always the concern that the second time may disappoint. We need not have worried. The hotel is slightly expanded but not lost it's homely feel. The spa is a great addition. Most days it was very quiet and relaxing although on a couple of days a little spoiled by a group of Brits ( and I am a Brit) who confused spa with football terrace........The dining room and food served in it is very good and this recent trip food was excellent - previously it was a little "stodgy". Wine (and decanters) very good, now both converts to Gruner vertliner (never thought an Austrian wine would be on the list of favourites.......). Breakfast buffet excellent. Rooms spotless and very nicely decorated and the lounge is the centre piece of the hotel. A great area.......trendy but cozy and wonderful log fires to enjoy that amazing gluwein beside. Used Andys taxis for transfer. Saved on hire car and parking. Would recommend as centre of town is minutes walk. You don't need a car if staying locally.

Room Tip: Any offer fantastic views of mountains

“nice and simple hotel”

The hotel is close to the center of Kitzbuhel. The Spa is pretty big and offers all kinds of massages and treatments, mine was ok, not outstanding, but ok, pricewise in the upper level. The restaurant is a typical skiing resort food, no big surprises neither bad nor very good. The breakfast buffett is very big and offers all kinds of cereals, juices, different sorts of ham cheese....very nice. The hotel claims to be designy, but it is not.

“Exceptional Service”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 1 February 2011

A must stay for sure! My husband & I loved every aspect of this hotel. It's set in a beautiful location, right on the mountain, a short walk from the main village...a true oasis. The service is exceptional! There is a ski room where you can store your equipment & there's a heater for your ski boots! The food is amazing. We had lamb & steak - such great meat! There is a lounge area with good live music & tv. All the staff are so friendly...speak at least 3 languages & love talking with the guests. One night we wanted to watch a sports game that wasn't shown on our room tv. The staff were quick to set us up in the main reception area & served us a 3 course meal right there! The best experience we've ever had. We never had to or wanted to leave the hotel! STAY HERE!!!!!

“Will be coming back!!”

Wow, what a pleasant surprise. Looking to book a 5 star hotel for New Year's getaway with the gf but couldn't find any available. We had to "settle" for this one as it's one of the top ranked on tripadvisor even though it wasn't a 5 star hotel I originally wanted. This hotel exceeded all my expectations and more! It had the amenity, facility and service of any great 5 star hotels!

We booked in late November so only a double room was available. The whole hotel and the room was tastefully decorated. It had the ski lodge feel yet everything was modern and updated. Best of all is the hotel staff, they were all amazing, service with a huge smile all the time, nothing was too much trouble. The best staff is Arnold, who works in the restaurant for breakfast, dinner and help at the lounge at night. This guy don't need any sleep and always great service.

A few issues....when booking massage, if you like deep tissue massage, make sure you tell the spa manager to arrange someone with strong hands. The pillows in the room was unacceptable!! WAY too soft, sleeping on my puffy jacket was better than stacking 5 pillows. If the hotel read this review...PLEASE CHANGE YOUR PILLOW! It's really unacceptable as it's extremely uncomfortable. I suggest travelers bring their own pillows.

The spa facility was great, two sauna with different temperature and a steam room. Small swimming pool but never crowded. Spa manager Daniela was great! Very few massage rooms so book your massage therapy early.

Some people here complained about the location of the hotel, I didn't find it bad at all. It was a easy 10 minute walk to Hannenkenbahn gondola and to the center of the village.

Lastly...I was expecting to go on a ski trip, not a winter fashion show! I was so under dressed as I only brought all my thermal wear and everyone at the hotel was fabulous in their Louboutin, Chanel and all.

“I love this place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 29 December 2010

This hotel is amazing in every aspect except location. The rooms are stunning and quite large. As we stayed with a large family group (aged 7 to 73) we booked several regular rooms and the Kitzhof Suite. The suite was an amazing experience. If you can afford it please book it. It was huge with 2 bedrooms and a magnificent lounge room with stunning local views. The food at the hotel was delicious...if somewhat fussy in nature....breakfast was all encompassing and certainly saved us money on the mountain as we didn't need lunch. the spa was excellent and had a good range of treatments and the pool was a treat as well....with many air jets etc. Overall I would highly recommend this hotel with the only downside being that it is not located close to a ski lift, though they do offer a free shuttle to a nearby gondola.
