“Perfect hospitality, amazing food, fantastic hotel and great location. Simply awesome!”

We stayed in the Hotel Edelweiss for 2 weeks in January 2012 for our honeymoon and I could not have imagined a more perfect experience.
It's not just the owners who do everything they can to make your stay as good as possible, but also their entire staff. All of the staff apear to take genuine pride in being friendly and helpful, but also know when their guests would prefer to just get on with what they are doing. In our view the hotel offered an excellent balance of being small enough to have the personal touch, but large enough for us to have some privacy without feeling like we were being antisocial!
The food is awesome - you will never go hungry at this hotel. The breakfast offers a wide variety of hot and cold food (the bacon is excellent) and is plentiful. The option of making lunch to take with you is a real bonus - everything is there to make filled rolls, cartons of drink, chocolate wafers and fruit - we saved approx 25 Euros per day through not buying lunch on the mountain. Soup and cake when you come off the mountain each day is freshly made and always tasty, and the evening meals are equally good - your only problem will be eating too much.
Our room was very nice, spacious, clean, comfortable and had a balcony. We also had a flat screen tv with some English channels and the wi-fi that was advertised as available in the bar/reception also worked in our room.
The boot room is large, swept regularly and had enough heated boot racks for everyone. Do not underestimate the benefits of walking to the gondola with toasty toes first thing in the morning! That said, the gondola is ony a 5 minute stroll away along a flat path - so no hills to walk up. The town centre is only a few minutes walk past the gondola and is easy to get to.
We strongly recommend this hotel and simply can't find anything negative to say. We shall return!

“Wonderful”

Edelweiss is charming and quaint, We loved it. Klaus, Veronika and their staff could not be more welcoming and helpful. We did not ski and this had been our first visit to a winter ski resort. Each morning after breakfast Klaus would show us a good walk on a map(which he loaned us for the duration of our week stay). When we returned in the evening, he, Veronika and their staff would inquire as to how we enjoyed our day. It was like coming home to a loving family each day.

We were encouraged to make up a packed lunch from the breakfast fare each morning (plastic bags being provided). Afternoon tea was served each day. 5 course evening meals. The whole experience was delightful.

It is 3mins walk from the cable cars and 5mins Kitzbuhel town centre. The train track runs by the hotel but this didn't bother us at all. We had a wonderful view of the snow covered mountain from our balcony.

Walkers can get a 'single' gondola(cable car) trip ticket at a reduced rate (E16.50) with the Kitzbuhel guest card which we were given when we first arrived in the hotel. This is one trip up the mountain and one trip back down. It can be from a different gondola station. Walking on the mountain is magical, as is the beautiful riverside walk from Kitzbuhel to Aurach and beyond.

We couldn't recommend it highly enough.

Room Tip: If the trains would bother you then ask for a room on other side of hotel.

“This hotel continues to offer standards far in excess of its 3* rating.”

Returned to this hotel for another skiing holiday. A warm welcome by the wonderful owners Klauss and Veronica who do everything possible to make your stay as good as they can. They have all the knowledge you need to make the most out of your stay. The food is fantastic. Breakfast is a great selection of hot and cold food. The best part is the area where you can make rolls (ham/cheese) to take with you and a lovely selection of fruit/biscuits and cartons of drink for when you are skiing. This saves a fortune as the mountain cafes are naturally more expensive. We tended to just buy a big bowl of soup on the mountain with a hot drink which reduced the cost. Evening meal is 5 course, the main course you select at breakfast, a small beer or wine is included. All the staff are lovely and so friendly. The hotel is a short walk to the main lift and you can ski to the door if there is enough snow as there was this year. On the top floor is a nice sauna and a room to relax after a hard days skiing. I took a picture of the room incase I can convert an attic area one day in my house! We went to watch an ice hockey match (7 euros) at the nearby rink. Great entertainment. Ask Klauss if there is a match. Look for the amazing climbing wall there too. Could have watched them for hours! My favourite cafe in the town was in the main street near the Louis Vuitton shop called Praxmair. I don't think it has changed in 30 years but the cakes are delicious. I brought some back to the U.K. to share with my mum. This year we went with our children ( 23 & 26). They agreed that they would only ever go back to the Edelweiss if they went to Kitzbuhel.

Room Tip: Room 213 has a large balcony
