Stayed her in late Sept / early Oct 2011. Only 600 meters from the airport - an easy walk if you're not overburdened with luggage. If you taxi (it's a very short ride), be sure the driver knows you want the "Sporthotel Penz" otherwise they may think you want to go to the Penz Hotel in downtown Innsbruck. (This hotel calls itself "Penz West," hence the confusion in names.) In spite of being near the airport, noise was not a problem. Flights stop arriving after about 10:00 p.m. We had the basic room which was still quite comfortable. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful, most who speak English well. Nice breakfast buffet; ate one nice dinner in the restaurant. Hotel is on a bus line that goes directly to the historic part of old Innsbruck; arrives every 15 minutes during the week. Or if the weather is nice, ask for directions to walk into town on the walkway/bike path that is along the Inn river. Innsbruck is well-served by public transit that is easy to figure out. Only drawback to the hotel is that aside from a good pizza restaurant across the street, the dining options near the hotel are limited. Plan your day so you can include your evening meal in another part of town. Then return to your clean, comfortable room for a good night.
