“Very conveniente, comfortable & friendly hotel”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 21 January 2012

The hotel has a great location in terms of convenience. Right next to huge sports centre, just across from the airport (noise is innexistant) and 5' away from city centre by public transport (bus stop just outside hotel). I was there over a weekend & it was excellent to come back to after a long day. The staff were very friendly, it has a (small) gym open 24h and a spa centre too. Breakfast was great with good variety & quantity. A pleasant choice all round.

“Friendly hotel with excellent breakfast”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 18 January 2012

Our room was very clean and spacious and all the staff were nice and friendly.
The breakfast was suberb - a large and varied buffet with hot and cold options that was restocked constantly.
Good location for the airport and very easy to find.

“One 'Snowy night'”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 January 2012

We decided to check into this hotel prior to our trip for it's close proximity to the Airport , and as we were arriving late we didn't want to make our way to the ski resort until the next day. The room was adequate, clean and basic. The breakfast was served in a nice room with a smile. The man on duty on our arrival was very helpful (and the only one on duty as the staff were having their Christmas party)
The only draw back (and NO fault of the hotel) was because the hotel is only 500m from the Airport the taxi driver would not take us there. so we had to push 2 airport trollies with 3 bags and skis through the blizzard to get there....

“Great staff - close to airport”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 16 November 2011

Stayed her in late Sept / early Oct 2011. Only 600 meters from the airport - an easy walk if you're not overburdened with luggage. If you taxi (it's a very short ride), be sure the driver knows you want the "Sporthotel Penz" otherwise they may think you want to go to the Penz Hotel in downtown Innsbruck. (This hotel calls itself "Penz West," hence the confusion in names.) In spite of being near the airport, noise was not a problem. Flights stop arriving after about 10:00 p.m. We had the basic room which was still quite comfortable. Excellent staff, very friendly and helpful, most who speak English well. Nice breakfast buffet; ate one nice dinner in the restaurant. Hotel is on a bus line that goes directly to the historic part of old Innsbruck; arrives every 15 minutes during the week. Or if the weather is nice, ask for directions to walk into town on the walkway/bike path that is along the Inn river. Innsbruck is well-served by public transit that is easy to figure out. Only drawback to the hotel is that aside from a good pizza restaurant across the street, the dining options near the hotel are limited. Plan your day so you can include your evening meal in another part of town. Then return to your clean, comfortable room for a good night.

Room Tip: The rooms on the east side of the hotel face away from the airport, although we were not bothered by...

“Nice hotel and a good value”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 28 September 2011

Stayed at this hotel while visiting Innsbruck and the surrounding area. The hotel room was nice and clean. There was great bathroom. My only complaint about the room was the AC. There was an AC but it did not get the room sufficiently cold for my tastes. Granted I was there in the summer but I did get hot at night with the AC not blowing super cold and the standard down comforters that are found in the hotel. The hotel was also a fair bit out of town necessitating driving or taking a taxi if you would like to see the main shopping and eating areas. That being said, the breakfast was great, the room was nice, and for getting out of the city the location is nice. It is extremely close to the airport but I was never disturbed by plane noise at all.
