“Wouldn't stay here again or recommend to anyone”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 4 October 2011

As a lot of the reviews say the hosts are not very friendly or helpful. Was really disappointed in the fact that the website that I booked on said transfers from train station were included in the price so I emailed the hotel to ask about the transfers as the hotel is a long way from the city and railway station and never received any reply to my email, When we arrived and I asked about the supposedly included in the price transfer I was told that only happens if the husband is home! Also, disappointing that the wifi would not work in the room and when I asked about it, the man was quite rude and just said it did work but it didn't. The rooms are clean but that is about all this hotel has going for it, bathrooms are tiny, and it is too far out of the city centre.

“Really clean”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed 3 September 2010

I don't ask for alot when travelling for leisure, all I need is a clean place, meaning the floors, the toilets, the shower cubicles, the bed sheets and the pillow so this place really meets my expectations. The washing area is really just pure white. The water can be drunk right from the tap and the floors are constantly clean without dust. The beds are comfortable too though I'm not too used the pillows.
Although the hosts are not the friend-liest or the chattiest I can find for a normal bed and breakfast, but they do give answers when required and information when needed [though we were mis-led on our way to the riding horse. A bus can take us straight there but the host told us to take to one stop and walk about 1000m]
However, breakfast area is clean, airy, quiet, big and variety of food is very typical Austrian selection. No frills though as we had to search elsewhere for food around the hotel as they don't serve meals past breakfast.
Venue is very convenient and beautiful view around the hotel too. Its not difficult to find and Hans [the host] even gave us a life to the train station on our way back. Will stay here again if I'm coming back to Innsbruck!

“Clean, quiet and GOOD value.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed 23 July 2009

Due to slow traffic throuigh the Alps, we arrived at 1130 p.m. The owner opened the door for us , greeted us, told us our late arrival was not a problem and got us settled. The next morning breakfast was typically Austrian with a wide variety of bread, cheese, meat, cereal and truly good coffee. This place seemed to be in a quiet neighborhood, a bit off the beaten track but not hard to find (thank you Garman!). The rooms were neat and uncluttered. Shower water as hot as you want it to be and a comfortable bed - I do not ask for more than that any where.

“Hallers are racist and not good hosts at all”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed 15 June 2006

We booked Pension Menghini on our recent trip of Austria & Switzerland. The pictures were really good. Though the place was quite beautiful, we were very disappointed with the behaviour of the Haller family. They were cold and came across as being racist. They also put off the heater in the middle of the night making it very uncomforatble inside the room. We would rather have stayed at some other place with more hospitable owners.

“Good Enough for What You Pay”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed 6 June 2006

Location: Away from the centre in a residential area which means you will not be disturbed by the hustle and bustle of the city. Can be reached easily by bus from outside of the Hauptbahnhof to the end of line at Stadium. From there it is a leisurely 5-min stroll. Area may be dark at night but is safe.

Rooms: The triple room we had was basic and a small for 3 pesons leaving little space for luggages. However, it is clean, comfortable and bright with full length windows opening to a balcony. Mattresses are good and firm.

Breakfast: Simple buffet-style breakfast is included in the price.

Service: Hotel appears to be family run. Overall they are courteous and helpful.

Caution: My only complaint is the bathroom which is small and cramped. Also there is no shower door so the floor gets wet even with the shower curtain.
