My wife & I spent 2 nights here, including New Year's Eve. So why do I rate it only average? As most people have stated, the location is very good, you can walk anywhere, so it is a great base, right in the city centre. The modern hotel looks good, the room is of an average size, but nothing that special, given the cost of a room. The first night I found too warm & could not work out the in-room air con, but this was not a major issue. The breakfast was very well presented, although my criticism is that the staff paid much more attention to refilling everything, rather than serving drinks - we had to wait longer than expected both days and no-one explained whether you could order anything other than was available from the substantial buffet - yes there were a lot of items, but American Buffet is not how I would describe it. The food supposed to be hot, was not - which was disappointing, because this is supposed to be the show-piece of the hotel. The views are very good from here. The major dissappointment was New Year's Eve, when forced back into the hotel by the persistent rain, we arrived at the hotel bar at 11.40pm - quite late, and to a full bar. We were offered 2 stalls at a table (which was something), but come midnight we had still not received our cocktails to toast the New Year, although the Manager was running around with 180 Euro bottles of Laurent Perrier Rose Champagne for other clients. I felt deflated and dissapointed. The bar was crowded (not all hotel guests I am certain) but there seemed to be too few staff serving. So we were dissappointed guests. It was certainly not the New Year's Eve we had envisaged. The hotel did not meet our expectations and for that reason I mark it as average. For over 200 Euros per night you can get much better value in Innsbruck, and with the same good location. A note: in reception Anna was very polite and helpful. Managers - where were you?
